(Open to a maximum of two characters. Thank you.)
Around the courtyard, you would see half-bloods conversing. Spreading rumors, gossip, and simply chatting in general, the average things a normal student would do. In one of the corners, the one that was covered in light shadows, a tall boy was leaning against a wall. He was slouching a bit, his hangs in his pockets, and his midnight colored hair hung haphazardly in front of his closed eyes. He wasn't talking to anybody, just standing there. Strangely enough, he didn't have any animal features on him, despite his wolf half being particularly influential on his character.
Aaron was still wondering why he was here. He was a wolf, a half-blood, though that was up for debate. He always thought of himself as more wolf than human. The reason he was here was that he had promised his mother to stay safe. She wanted to know he would be safe. He was perfectly fine living in the forest, with the other animals. He had done that for a while. But he didn't want to cause his mother any sadness.
So here he was. A lone wolf that was forced into a pack. He felt out of place here. Then again, he felt out of place around humans, or anyone who pretended they were human. Everyone here was trying to be more human, and Aaron was the only one not fighting it. He heard footsteps coming towards him. The 10 year old opened his eyes and looked up, revealing their stunning amber color. He remained silent.

Kevin saw a young boy sitting in one of the corners of the courtyard. He looked rather lonely. So Kevin decided to walk over to him and try to make a new friend. "Hey." He said when the boy looked up at him. "What are you doing all alone over here? Wouldn't you rather be talking with your friends?"

Aaron could tell that Kevin was also a wolf. Black ears popped out from his oynx hair, and he also had a tail. Aaron, being pretty tall for his age, was almost at eye level with Kevin. He was silent for a moment after the half-blood spoke, his gaze unwavering and unreadable.
"No thanks," he said simply. He didn't really have any friends. He had avoided schools his whole life, at first because he was shy and got bullied, but then it was to learn more about life, and the balance of nature. Learning the human studies never seemed that important to him, and vice-versa. He never saw a human in the forest, or really, even many half-bloods.
Humans had always seemed to be obsessed with destroying life. One of the many reasons that Aaron had decided to be a wolf.

Kevin was surprised he didn't want to. It was also hard for him to determine his animal half. He didn't have any animal features. The kid seemed pretty solitary to him. Being a wolf, Kevin liked to be in a group, because to him it felt like a pack. He realized he hadn't introduced himself. "I haven't introduced myself. My name's Kevin, and I'm a wolf half-blood. And you are?"

Aaron wasn't surprised he had been right about Kevin's animal half. He had picked up more on how to read people, and animals. It was a good skill to learn, especially in a world where everyone was out to hunt you. You needed to know you could trust people.
"Aaron," he replied simply, not really trying to keep the conversation going. Despite them both being wolves, Kevin and Aaron were different. Aaron liked to be on his own, and Kevin seemed to like being in a pack. It was kind of funny, in that sense he reminded Aaron of his sister. She tried too hard to be something Aaron thought she wasn't, a human. She had surrounded herself in friends while Aaron ran away from them.
"Wolf." He had realized he didn't completely answer Kevin's question, and solved the problem. He left out "half-blood" on purpose. He was still debating on if he was more wolf than human.

"Well nice to meet you Aaron." He said. "Another wolf half-blood? That makes three of them at this school." This kid was acting like he was trying to stop the conversation. Kevin was trying the opposite. He wanted to know more of the half-bloods, especially the wolves. "So you seem pretty solitary, what's that about?" He asked.

Aaron nodded distractedly. So they were other wolf half-bloods. Aaron already knew that. Kevin didn't seem to understand that he wasn't very interested in conversation. Aaron disliked the way that Kevin decided to turn the focus on Aaron's attitude, but didn't show it. He didn't respond for a while, either. Instead he averted his gaze and looked to the side.
"I don't like people who pretend they're something they're not."

"Well, I don't do that." He said. He decided this conversation wasn't getting anywhere. "Hey I'm gonna go." So he walked towards the courtyard. "Seeya."

Aaron normally would have let a conversation like this go. But he felt that Kevin was lying to himself. And he needed to know that.
"Yes you do. You're doing it now," Aaron spoke up. "You're pretending to be human."

"How exactly am I pretending to be human?" He asked.

"You're withholding your wolf nature," he replied. "You keep yourself in your human form. You're in a school, surrounded by walls. Don't tell me you aren't lying to yourself." Memories of the argument he had with his sister went through his head for a moment.

"If I was in the forest I would prove you wrong. I spend almost all of my time there, and when I'm there, I'm on wolf form the entire time." He said. "So what if I'm in my human form when I'm not in the forest. Fine, wanna go to the forest, and hunt and such?" He asked.
(If you say yes, will you make the thread? I'm gonna have to get off soon.)

"So you can hunt. It doesn't prove anything," Aaron replied. Maybe he should humor the teen, though. Aaron had been trained to read terrain, to hunt efficiently, and he doubted Kevin had that opportunity. Aaron would be relying on instinct and skill, while Kevin would most likely just be going on urges and instincts, and whatever he taught himself.
"Fine."
