(see what i did there sammy-boy) Sam HansonAlice was back to her healed and innocent self again. Recently, she had interfered with Shadow's mass murdering, and paid the gory price for it. This resulted in an injured shoulder and foot. Of course, she had not meant to just walk into the forest to find two dozen students dead, with their blood still warm, and their killer still near. Then again, it was her elegant and refined self that led herself towards the murder scene. If she had never heard her playing the violin so beautifully, none of that would have ever happened. But you can't stop fate, I guess. Alice was in the courtyard, re-reading one of her favorite books, Sense & Sensibility, a truly classic piece, according to herself. However, she could not just focus her mind on the book. Alice was beginning to wonder why a courtyard, was called a courtyard. She knew that court meant two things: 1) to date someone, usually to a female and 2) somewhere to calm disputes by a judge and a jury. Her mind settled on the topic of romance. She really hadn't gotten in any relationship, at least, with someone adequately active she had friends. But she never really saw them all that often. Alice wished that she had a deeper friendship with someone. Sigh...(i hope this didn't intimidate you =) )

(i am intimidated by everyone mabel 8Y) Sam walked into the courtyard, somewhat hoping to be alone. Of course, so far, he had no friends and it was bothering him to not have anyone to talk to yet. He heard some worried talk about things happening at the academy so he intended to avoid people mostly. Then he saw a girl in the courtyard. She was reading a book, but Sam didn't know what. Sam focused his gaze on to her and thought about going up and talking. When he already started walking in her direction, there was already no turning back. He awkwardly stood near her and let out a quiet "Hi."

(it is fine my gay egg)
Alice looked up to see what seemed to be a young boy, and thought how much of a coincidence this was, as she was just thinking about making friends with someone. She stood up to sit upright, then smiled.
"Hi."
She didn't say anything for awhile, but then realized that she had not seen him before. Then again, she did not know a lot of people in the academy. "Are you new in the academy? I don't think I've seen you around before...
"Oh, wait. Pardon my impoliteness, my name is Alice."

('my gay egg' iM SCREAMING,,, also sorry for short response bLEh)
"H-hi, Alice. I'm Sam... and, uh, yeah, I'm new here." Sam said a bit more confidently. The girl seemed to be pleasant to him so far. It would've meant a lot to him if she could be his friend.
When Alice sat up, he caught the name of the book she was reading. Sense and Sensibility? He thought, I know that name somewhere. Definitely.
"Isn't that book written by Jane Austen? I believe that's her name anyways..." Sam said suddenly. "I remember that my mom liked it and she read it all the time. I think I've read bits and pieces of it, but I never read the entire thing. Is it any good?"

(=D)
Alice smiled once more, and replied, "Nice to meet you, Sam!"
"Isn't that book written by Jane Austen? I believe that's her name anyways... I remember that my mom liked it and she read it all the time. I think I've read bits and pieces of it, but I never read the entire thing. Is it any good?"
Alice, who kind of, sort of, really wasn't reading the book with a full attention, looked on the front of the book, to remind herself if it was by Jane Austen or not. Alice looked back up at Sam, and said awkwardly, "Uh, yeah, it's by Jane Austen.
"Oh the book is AMAZING! But, uh...a lot of people think its boring, or they can't understand what's happening...But I guess spending a whole week in the library pays off, heh..."
Alice did not know how desperate for a friend she was, but it sure was showing.

(is busy not having a life currently and has no insp fo r anything)
Sam smiled. "Maybe I should read it sometime when I'm not busy." Well, I do nothing pretty much all day, but I can at least sound like I have a life.
"So.... um... Any other books you like? I'm kind of trying to read a bit more, so any suggestions?" Part of that was a lie, but he wanted to strike up conversation. Maybe Alice read some books that Sam enjoyed.
Unlikely, he thought, but worth a shot.

Alice's awkward smile faded away, and was soon replaced with an annoyed expression. "I'm not just a bookworm..." she murmured to herself, looking away. "But, uh, something tells me you're more into fiction than non-fiction.
Maybe John Green would be good for you. He's writes sappy books though.."
(aaand there goes my muse.)
