I am open to comments of any sort! I hope you enjoy this! Sorry it's taken so long!!
The night was as cold as any other. Though spring was coming on more and more, the black-clothed assassin only felt it getting more frosty with every hour that closed in, closer and closer, to her striking night.
And it was time.
She'd left a simple message, one that she had hoped would leave fear and determination stinging the weakling like an attempt at removing a bee stinger. Painful, but necessary.
Opal waited, like a snake, patient, above in a tree, absently - though alertly - widdling an infinity symbol into the bark. She'd had it tattooed on her wrist all those years ago. And it drove her on still.
That's what the note had said. Claire read it over again, tapped the word forest impatiently. "Where?" She whispered under her breath. A chill nipped at her, reminding her all the more of not the cold that still lingered, but that she should be very worried. This woman can track a half-blood colony. Why not me?
"Shadow?" The girl called out, and Opal could have sworn there was a trace of bravery in the woman's eyes. I can break that with a snap of my fingers - or, rather, her fingers. It was all Opal could do not to laugh at her own gruesome joke
Opal was silent as she walked up behind the innocent. She's not innocent. No one is.
"How very noble of you," she mocked. Claire whipped around and her eyes seemed to growl.
"What do you have to have for the deaths and the attacks to stop?" The half-blood demanded, lashing her log fluffy tail.
"Very abrupt, are we?" Opal pressed, stepping forward carefully, smirking. "I expected the principal to be more patient!"
Claire glared. Opal laughed.
"Well?" Claire snarled.
Shaking her head, Opal gave the girl a pitying look, slowly walking forward and withdrawing her gas cloth. "So ignorant..." she muttered, tilting her head, getting ready to spring forward.
"I suppose so, but-" Claire was cut off as Opal darted forward, grabbing Claire's wrist unforgiving and tugging forward. But in her haste she had forgotten that Claire was a big cat, and one that had strong control over her animal form and her transformations.
The snow leopard jumped forward, teeth bared. Opal stepped to the side sharply and snapped a kick into Claire's ribs. The principal yelped and stumbled, but stood her ground. "Dear, don't overwork yourself. I only need you dead or submitting," Opal sneered, then quickly jabbed her heel into the girl's eye. Again, the cat roared, but instead of staggering, launched herself forward and knocked the assassin girl over.
Stunned, Opal barely had the chance to dodge a swipe at her face, and jabbed her dagger into Claire's leg. She screeched and rolled in pain, and Opal stood quickly. She pulled the blade away, kicked Claire twice more, and stood over her, ready to gas her. Claire was holding still, so Opal assumed that she was out.
Maybe she should have been getting more sleep.
Though it hurt like fire, Claire rolled all the way onto her spine and pulled her legs to her chest, then kicking forward, sending Opal staggering back into a tree. The human gasped, and the next thing she knew, there was an angry big cat pinning her down on the ground, a big paw on her stomach and legs, baring her teeth.
Square in the shoulder, Opal stabbed the cat. Claire collapsed to the side, defeated, and just for good measures, Opal pressed the cloth to her face quickly.
She was out cold.
And soon the concert would begin.

Your fate closes in
You know of the deaths
There will be more
Though less if you come
Let us talk this through like leaders should
Come to the forest tonight
I'll find you
Don't worry

Opal's calculations had been just right. The black-haired girl passed just under her, and silently, she slunk down the trunk and crouched behind a thicket adjacent to the half-blood. The leader. The enemy."Shadow?" The girl called out, and Opal could have sworn there was a trace of bravery in the woman's eyes. I can break that with a snap of my fingers - or, rather, her fingers. She would have understood the hint if she gave me the chance to tell her.. Claire thought briefly as she switched sharply to her animal form, tearing out of Opal's grasp leaping forward, she turned on her heal and growled sharply, crouching low, eyes blazing.***
Well I wasn't expecting that, Opal thought quickly, then stood in a readied stance, facing the large wild cat with equal ferocity. "Well, you're the first to try fighting," she noted, then nodded as though she was in a chess match letting the opposite player make a move. The snow leopard jumped forward, teeth bared.
