Normally, if Adam needed a place to space out, it would be in the forest. But a swarm of assassins were stalking around in the forest, getting ready to pounce on their next prey. So he crossed that off the list, which included the greenhouse, because it wasn't that far off from the forest. There was also the courtyard, but Adam felt that he needed to be alone. So everywhere in the academy he had crossed off. Except for this room. Because it was a music room, and most halfbloods were not given the privilege of learning how to play an instrument, which was the main purpose of the room. Adam just needed a place to be alone, so he found himself in the music room.
He was sitting in a right corner of the room, with his knees to his chest. Adam looked up at the artificial lights, and noticed how weak his eyes felt. He had not gotten the proper amount of sleep he needed lately. Mostly because of paranoia. God, it was frustrating as-
Step. Step. Someone was coming. "Hmph." said a frustrated hawk half-blood. Adam wanted to be alone. But what could he do? He might as well ignore them, or whoever it was could ignore him.

| | "Why are you so grumpy today, Mr. Half-Hawk?" Rosemary grinned, watching poor Adam from the doorway, twirling a chunk of her dyed-pink hair with her right index finger. She was bored, and feared going into the forest on such a quiet day. She had been dancing in the halls when no one was looking, and humming to herself when there were others present. But despite her current happiness, it felt quite gloomy at the academy. All of the half-bloods seemed to be scattered, fending for themselves, hiding from the killers that stalked the students. She was a little scared herself, but she didn't want to show it. "I guess it's only me who's feeling happiness, and no, I have not injured or killed anyone." She joked playfully with her boyfriend, trying to cheer him up. Rosemary entered the room and walked to Adam. She studied his face when he looked up at the lights... Were there dark circles under his eyes? Maybe it was just the darkness the music room cast. She couldn't be sure until she commented, but she didn't want to make the poor guy feel any gloomier than he already appeared to be.

Adam quickly recognized the voice as Rosemary's. He knew he couldn't stay gloomy when his happy-go-lucky girlfriend was around. Adam cleared his throat, and shrugged. It was up to Adam to make sure Rosemary wouldn't become paranoid, so he decided to stay quiet.
"I guess it's only me who's feeling happiness, and no, I have not injured or killed anyone." Adam giggled at her joke, and thought it best to stand up. He slowly walked up to his lovely fiancee, and asked, "And why are you so happy?" with a smile.

| *chokes* FIANCEE? I thought they were just trust-ringed? Eh, I'm okay with them getting married anyways. Doing something happy (the marriage) will make the rest of the half-bloods have hope because of SOMEONE'S WRATH (*cough* SUNNY *cough*) |
Well... That was weird. Rosemary almost wanted to frown, but she didn't want to shatter her happiness. Adam had instantly transformed from a gloomy hawk to a happy hawk, and it puzzled her for a moment. But hey, at least it was a sign she had cheered him up!
"I don't know!" She grinned. As soon as they were close, she attempted to hold his hands and swing them goofily. "I've probably just eaten too many cafeteria cookies."

Adam chuckled at Rosemary's reason for her happiness. "Some cookies." he laughed. "Sorry, I seem so...off. It's just that I've become a little worried for what might happen next." Adam rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. He didn't want anybody to worry for him, he wanted to worry about everyone else.

She shrugged and grinned. "That's alright." She laughed a little. "Everyone's worried for what will happen next, because no one knows. Something happy needs to happen in order to get things back on track." She frowned and a sudden gloom spread over her.

(sorry for the late reply!)
The twinkling of Rosemary's laugh was joy to Adam's ears. He smiled, and looked up at his girlfriend. To his surprise, she wasn't the same happy self she was a few moments ago. Adam stood up, and attempted to pull Rosemary into a loving embrace.

( It's okay ) She was surprised by the embrace attempt, but she gave in. Rosemary hugged Adam tight, not ever wanting to lose him. Harships were growing and soon, the academy would be destroyed. Where would she go? Could she escape with Adam? "Adam," She blurted her ideas without thinking twice. "Why don't we go run away? The assassins won't be able to attack us if they don't know where we are." She put her hands around his neck and looked into his eyes, searching for any hints of unhappiness. She never, ever wanted Adam to be upset or sad, and she would never abandon him, especially now.

(KAWAII ) Adam hugged Rosemary tighter, but not so tight as to hurt her. He never wanted to let go of someone he loved, as that already happened multiple times. His family, his sister... Adam shook off the feeling of remembrance quickly, and decided to listen to what his girlfriend had to say. Adam searched Rosemary's blue eyes, trying to find reasoning in her statement. Sure, Rosemary was a bright and cheery girl, but this was kind of a redundant suggestion. "Well..." Adam rubbed his neck, trying to find a way to be nice. "While there are assassins here at the academy...there could be hundreds more outside the academy. "I mean, it's possible there's not, but where would we even go? I'm fearing that the HBES might find us before anyone else does..."

( Yes!! ) "Yeah, I guess so." She frowned and looked away from Adam, a tear rolling down her cheek. Then another tear rolled down her opposite cheek. She didn't even know she was crying. Sudden moments with the HBES came back to her. Watching them burn her house. Knowing her father was dead. Seeing her mother trip. Hearing the screams of her mother being taken from the HBES. She almost wanted to burst into tears. But she didn't. "I... I just want us to be safe and happy."

(ADAM DARNED MESSED UP -slaps adam- WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU)
Adam was half-expecting Rosemary to cry, but who wouldn't? It was his fault for bringing up terrible memories, after all. "Rosemary..." cooed Adam, as he tried to hug her from behind. He attempted to rest his chin upon Rosemary's head, and closed his eyes. "It tears me apart to see you upset."
"I... I just want us to be safe and happy."
Adam opened his tired eyes, and attempted to nuzzle her neck with his nose. "I do too. We'll find a way.
"I know we will."

The comfort made her feel a little better, but the HBES memories were horrid and quite vivid memories. It was almost as if those times had happened the day before, but she knew they were just stupid scars that would never go away, no matter how hard she wished.
"How will we be safe?" Rosemary cried. "There are assassins destined to kill us at every corner, and it's every half-blood for themselves."

"Not us." corrected Adam. "We'll defend ourselves together."
Adam was seriously struggling to make Rosemary feel better. It hurt him more than it hurt her. Adam had one more thing in mind: He could kiss Rosemary, he knew that if he kissed her, all her worries disappeared.
So that's what he did.
Adam walked round to face his girlfriend, placed his hand gently underneath Rosemary's chin, and slowly brought his lips to hers.

( My face right now ) Woah...She was shocked by the sudden kiss, but she accepted it after a second. They were trust-ringed after all, and trust was a component to love. Rosemary attempted to throw her arms around his neck to secure herself and kissed him passionately. The memories were gone. She didn't care about Opal. She didn't care about anyone else at the academy besides Adam. Scars didn't last forever when you had true love. I love him more than anything...

(well that escalated quickly)
Adam was happy that Rosemary gave into the kiss. He let her throw her arms around his neck, as the hawk half-blood tried desperately to keep his girlfriend happy. As much as Rosemary's kiss was comforting and warm, (GOD EWWW) it was also kinda tiring. Not that Adam didn't want to kiss her, he had just not gotten the proper number of sleep he should get. Despite this, he let his eyelids close, as it felt like a chore.

Something just felt wrong.
Maybe he didn't want to kiss her. Maybe she didn't want to kiss him. But just mere seconds after she had thrown her arms around his neck she felt something was just not quite right.
Rosemary pulled away. "Adam, are you okay? Something feels wrong." She spoke, full of concern.

(LOL i guess i should make this clear: I meant to say "it may have seemed like Adam didn't want to kiss her" but it turned out wrong)
"Adam, are you okay? Something feels wrong." As much as Adam wanted to pull her into a kiss again, he knew that he should open up. "I..." Adam's vision started to blur, due to the fact that he was starting to cry. "I just-" He felt his knees grow weaker, and before they gave way, Adam sat down in his corner. Crying took control over Adam, and he dug his face in his arms.

( OOOOOOOOOOOOooooh... Oops... )
"Adam!" She almost shrieked. He had collapsed! What was she supposed to do? Was he sick? Was he going insane? She had no clue.
And now he was crying.
Rosemary sat down next to him and attempted to hug him, thinking of ideas for what she could do. At last, one came to her. "Adam, why don't you come to my dorm and sleep in my room? (OH GOODNESS NO IT'S NOT WHAT YOU'RE THINKING) I'll make you some hot chocolate, tea, or whatever you want. You can take a nap or rest. I won't be in my dorm with you, so you should have peace and quiet. I need to go take care of some other stuff."

(well then) (wait, are guys even allowed in the girl dorms?)
Shoot. He made Rosemary worried again. Adam gave in to the hug, but continued to cry. "I-I'm sorry..." he said, as he tried to wipe away his own tears with his sleeve. Of course, it didn't help.
"Adam, why don't you come to my dorm and sleep in my room? I'll make you some hot chocolate, tea, or whatever you want. You can take a nap or rest. I won't be in my dorm with you, so you should have peace and quiet. I need to go take care of some other stuff."
Adam hesitated for a moment, then nodded. What confused him, was the: "I need to take care of some other stuff." part. Being the nosy guy he was, Adam asked, "What 'stuff' do you need to take care of?"

( If it's just for a visit, I think so. )
"Just other things." She shrugged. "For example, I'm pretty hungry. I think I'm going to go down to the cafeteria and get something to eat. I might go and sit in the courtyard and make plans for our hideout, remember that? Nothing dangerous." Rosemary smiled, remembering the safe haven she was planning on helping Opal build so that she and Adam wouldn't be in danger. She hoped Adam would get better. It seemed like Adam was sleep-deprived or sick. Either way, rest could make it better.

"Mm." replied Adam. He pulled away from the hug, and looked into Rosemary's blue eyes. Adam was worried Rosemary would get hurt, now that the assassins were waiting to kill on every corner.
"Promise me that you'll stay safe." asked Adam.

"I promise." Rosemary said sincerely. She meant it. She was going to avoid Opal and the other assassin and Logan, even if it put her health on the line. She wanted no contact whatsoever, and she didn't want Adam to get in contact with the assassins either.
"And you promise to stay safe too?"

"I promise." Adam said wholeheartedly. "Pinky promise?" The half-blood looked up at Rosemary, and smiled playfully. Adam sometimes thought his childish self would make others smile. He lifted his pinky, to his girlfriends' hand, and smiled.

She smiled at him, glad he promised as well. Rosemary lifted her pinky and attempted to take Adam's in the traditional pinky promise.
"Pinky promise. Another grin grew wide across her face. She loved Adam more than anything and couldn't imagine losing him. Now all she could do was hope he was safe... And of course worry over his well-being.
