The grasslands were a whole knew land. There was the infrequent tree, an abundance of long, dry grass, and a hot but not suffocating heat. It was ideal for Ben, and it was the closest he had gotten to back at home. And he enjoyed the warmth of the sun carried on the tentative breeze to where he curled up, lion form, at the base of a tall Savannah tree, it's thick leaves casting a gloomy berth over his massive body. Ben was asleep, letting the world around him sink in, and the news about assassins around the academy take shape in his head.

Logan stalked through the tall dry glass, happy that the grasslands were different than the actual snowy world. He had a deer in his jaws, and he was dragging it along, trying to find a place to eat it in peace. He turned and saw a lion laying under the tree. Aware it was a half-blood, he walked over to him, and nudged him with his muzzle. "Hello." He said, speaking in big cat language. "You're a half-blood, aren't you?"

The lion raised his massive head with a bit of a jolt, a trace of fear lingering on the corners of his eyes. "Oh!" He exclaimed, blinking away the worry, shuffling over for space and to appear more attentive. "Yes. I am. Ben Rhodin." Ben dipped his head, a cat grin on his broad face. "Interesting catch. I thought I was the only one animal enough to catch anything. I suppose being raised by lions will do that to you?" He smiled wider.

Logan dipped his head as well. "Logan Marshall, and, as you can see, I'm half tiger."At the mention of his catch, he nodded. "Yes, I hunt in my animal form. I guess you could say I'm more animal than human." He gave a slight smile, and the sun beat down against his orange and black fur. He raised his brows at his comment of his former home. "I wasn't raised in my animal's home place, as much as I'd have liked to live in Zambia or Kenya. No, I was raised in Chicago. My life was probably... different, from yours."
He dropped the deer, and bit into the leg, ripping it off with ease. It had been a while since he had last eaten, and what better place to eat than in a warm, grassy place. It was definitely a place where he would go more. Swallowing the deer leg, he looked at Benedict, waiting for him to answer the question, while also enjoying the warmth on his fur. (Over xbox, Kat gave me tips to be better at RP. It's helped. )

|That's awesome! And I can give you more via PM if you like. Just send one and I'll help out in whatever way you want|
The boy shrugged, as obviously Logan didn't get what he meant. Oh, well, he thought, grinning and tilting his head forward to sniff the deer carcass in curiosity. "I was raised by lions in Africa. Quite the background." Ben rolled his eyes, sarcastic. "Others have had very emotionally downing backgrounds I hear. I guess I'm lucky."

"Yes, most of us do have emotional backgrounds, and now with the 2-dozen mass-murder, it seems as if people are losing even more of their loved ones, and this place isn't turning out to be as much as a safe-haven as we wanted it to be."" He said, a grim expression on his face.
His head low, he muttered, "And it's because of me and my friends."

|See what I mean? Careful not to let any information out|
Ben blinked, startled. Sapphire said there were three that were attacking the academy. She said only two were really dangerous, but... The lion sat up, alert, tail lashing despite himself. "You? And you're friends? You'r kidding, right?" He asked, stunned. The boy shook his large head. "You're joking. You're just another good-ol' half-blood. Plus, it was just Shadow that killed all those people!"

[oops, //shot ]
Logan's eyes were alert, and he stifled a laugh. "Yeah, man. I'm just messing with you." He got up and shifted to human form; a tall, muscular, grey haired 19-year-old male. His blue eyes stared down at the lion, and multiple thoughts swirled his mind. He can't know that I'm working with Opal and Sapphire; What if he finds out? They'll kill me, literally.
Logan looked back up, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He sighed, though. "You're not wrong though. It was Shadow. But she has accomplices. I'm not saying it's me, though. I wouldn't work with them."
He gave another sigh, and shook his head. "Honestly, I used to be a bad person, but something changed me. I don't know, honestly. But I just prayed, for the first time, and I had faith. Faith that someone will right my wrongs, that I would change. And I did."
(I hope you don't mind. Logan's christian, and he uses his beliefs to help him focus on the good and the light.)

|Oh, no, I don't mind at all! My 'religion' is the belief that religion guides people to do the right thing. I don't reject the faith; just don't connect It gives Logan character and a real reason to change!| Ben nodded, understanding, still a little concerned. "Well, it's good you're a better man.." He muttered, shifting as well into his African, golden-brown-haired, brown eyed, tail-and-ears human form. Ben grinned halfheartedly, then studied the boy. "Everyone says you used to be the biggest fear.. I remember hearing your name around the halls. They said you wouldn't stop to hurt people. And that you broke people's hearts..." He licked his lips, dipped his head respectfully like a male lion would. "Is that true?"

Logan was hesitant on revealing his past, but he slowly nodded. "Yes, that's all true, and I won't deny it, because when I lie I feel like I've done another sin." He said, his grey bangs, covering his right eye. He looked at Ben, his eyes sincere and showing that he was sorry.
My parents would tell me this, before they were killed: "Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step." He paused, and stared off. "A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. That and my faith motivated me to move on; Motivated me to change. I have already taken that step. My journey is underway."

The lion half-blood nodded slowly, her eyes on his feet. "Know what I think?" He murmured, licking his lips. "I think you should start by apologizing to everyone after the plot and doing something to show you're different. Like.. you had claws, right? Have? Get rid of them. Give them to Claire to show her you're changed."

Logan nodded, muttering things to quiet to hear. "You're right. And I will try to put down the claws, but the thing is, I've had them since I was 13. And they're special to me. I made them, being my great skill at forgery. I can make jewelry, armor, and weapons. But now I'm just sticking to jewelry. I don't think Claire would like me making weapons." He said, stifling a laugh.

"I think you're right," Ben greed, smiling. He considered Logan's statement about weapon making. I hope this assassin thing doesn't go into a war. Otherwise, though they're outnumbered, we are out-skilled. There's no way we can take them. A shiver passed down his spine, and he thought of the reports of the many killed. So many by a single person. Imagine what those two can do without needing to hold back.. "Well, I'm sure you don't want me pestering you about your life much longer," Ben declared, shrugging slightly. He pointed to one of the deer legs, grinning. "You gonna eat that? I'm famished."

Logan shook his head, and kicked the deer over to him. "So Ben, have you met any nice people here at the academy?" He asked.
(For the first time in forever, I have no muse.)
(I'm just trying to make him say he met sapphire)

|The first time? *Laughs mockingly* sorry|
Ben shrugged, prodded the deer with a foot. I can't eat an animal as a human. Not raw. For later. He shrugged again, thinking of Sapphire, a girl he had thought of as more of a friend, but was liking more and more with each passing minute. "Yeah. A few," He responded simply.
