The people were strange at the school. But, it was a safe place where they could be themselves without worrying about being hunted. The new girl decided to take a stroll through the forest. The forest was a bird's most common place to nest. She wondered if the forest was safe. Were there predators? She was aware of some of the students being predator animals. They weren't allowed to kill and eat the prey half-bloods. That made her feel better knowing that. Xiomara exhaled deeply and a small smile spread across her face. The academy wasn't that bad... Callum, still in human form, flapped his golden-brown wings, watching the girl. It was nice to be in the sky. He was on cloud 9. Literally. He was actually "laying" on a cloud. It was actually quite comfortable. At the right time, he nosedived down and turned upward before hitting the ground, landing softly in the grass. "Hey, Zoe." He said, giving a warm smile. "It's me, Cal. Remember me from the bus stop?"

Zoey was unaware that there was someone watching her. If she found out, she would look like a bird gone crazy. A cat on catnip. However, Callum's smooth landing didn't frighten her. His warm smile made her relax a little bit but his smile could also be dangerous. "Yes, I do.. Hi."

"Hello." He flapped his wings, so he was slightly hovering over the ground. "You're half bluejay, right? Well, birds of a feather got to stick together, am I right?"

Xiomara was looking straight at Callum's strong and beautiful wings. They were magnificent. Oh, she wished she could have wings like his. Her wings were a little bit smaller, and they were very different in color. Ah, yes. Of course, he would guess what kind of bird she was. I just hope he isn't mean.... Yeah, he is much bigger than me but that doesn't mean anything! Xiomara disliked the bigger birds picking on her for being part of the small birds. It was nonsense, really.
Besides, those huge wings would always be getting in the way. She was proud to be one of the small birds. But, still... "Your wings are very pretty..." she whispered out loud without realizing it. Xiomara pretended like she didn't say that, even though her cheeks were burning hot with embarrassment.
"Y-Yes, I'm a bluejay- er, I mean, half bluejay... And I guess.. you're right about that." she said and forced a small smile. Xiomara started to look away and she asked, "S-So, do you like this place?"
