Double Trouble, Part 1

Leaves crunched as Logan Marshall walked in the woods late at night. He was so mad at himself lately. When he met Rosemary Jackson at the beach to taunt her, he accidentally gave away two letters to Opal Strole’s name, and she wasn’t quite happy with him. She broke their alliance and banned him from the base permanently. Even though the base was meant for both of them, she was the one who made it, so she was able to ban him from it. He was in the forest that night looking for her, desperately wanting to make things up, because he loved her almost as much as he loved Rayne.
“Looking for someone?” Opal smiled as she came out from behind a tree, her best throwing knife in her right hand. She had got the reaction from Logan she was hoping for- he had turned to his left, startled. She was going to kill him. He was the one that had most of her deepest secrets, and he was a half-blood anyway, so why did he matter? “Maybe, me?” She continued.
“Or maybe me?” Sapphire said, grinning evilly, her katana in her right hand. She had decided her sais would not be right for the job. Sapphire was very excited for this- she and Opal had made and agreed on a plan at the base. It was one that would, for sure, teach Logan a lesson for betraying. “Face it Logan. You’ve been replaced.”
“What’re you gonna do about it, sweetheart?” Opal questioned him. “There’s another one like you, and it’s not me. What’s your reaction?” She grinned and started circling him.
Sapphire circled him as well. As she approached his left side she whispered in his ear and left a little slit below his ear with his katana. “You know, honey, I’m highly trained with swords and sais. Intimidated much?” She grinned along with Opal.
Panic struck Logan like a bullet; they were right, he was replaced, and there was nothing he could do about it. He didn’t have any weapons on him. There was no way he could fight them. And when the other female slit him below his left ear, he yelped. She didn’t leave a deep slit, but it was enough to startle him.
Sapphire kept circling, and she soon reached Logan’s right ear. “Tell all your friends they can call me Marie.” She raised her katana and slit just below his right ear, like she did on the opposing side of him.
Logan panicked more when Marie left a slit below his right ear, and he turned to face her. But he was startled when he was confronted with a piece of cloth to his face instead of the girl. “Opal, what is this stuff?” He felt dizzy, and he got scared. He shut his eyes and passed out.
“Mission accomplished.” Sapphire muttered, loud enough so only Opal could hear.
