Opal StroleSilently, Sapphire tiptoed through the forest. It was too overcoming; the urge to fight, the urge to torture, the urge to kill. She had to find something to kill, and she decided on an animal. Not a student from the Academy, but an animal. Her camouflage jumpsuit made swift travel and blending in easy, and she kept her sword behind her, but still attached to her light brown belt. "Come on out, you dumb animals, come and meet my katana." She whispered, and she was so quiet it was almost as if she hadn't said anything at all. "I'm waiting."

A certain Shadow was out as well, though she wasn't drawn to the forest for blood lust and vengeance. That time. Her smooth black jumpsuit stretched around her as she crawled, not unlike a spider, around trees, following the figure she had seen so clearly. Opal's hair was smoothly streaked out behind her, with red clip-in highlights, and a black mask with red cat-eye affect stretched over her head, and bright red lipstick ready to match. If Sapphire was in an attempt to keep her identity a secret, she was far from perfecting it. Opal would have been able to find her among students already, simply because the new girl seemed content with killing whatever it was she was hunting. Opal wouldn't have it. She couldn't let someone else get in the way of her plans, let alone take the credit for her imperfect deeds. Silently, Opal drew a long knife from her thigh-high boots, and sneaked along the ground. In a flash, she had bowled herself into the new girl, (this powerplay was accepted) pinning her to a tree with a knife to her throat. "Don't try anything," Opal growled, narrowing her eyes.

| "If Sapphire was in an attempt to keep her identity a secret..." How would Opal know Sapphire's real name? She hasn't given it out at all. |
Sapphire was a little shocked when she was pinned to the tree. Apparently she wasn't alone in the desperate attempts to kill. Maybe this chick was like her, seeking to reek havoc and torture everyone around her.
"Nice moves, huh? Where you from, San Fran? Chicago? They do a ton of weapon training there. I didn't go there to learn how to use swords, but I managed to learn elsewhere." She acted as if she was just putting her hands up in a surrender, but in the blink of an eye she had pulled out her katana from her belt and attempted to shove the girl off of her with all her strength, which was a lot.

(She didn't. It was in post, not in conversation)
This girl talks too much, Opal thought in annoyance. She had expected the girl to be all for show, so it was a bit surprising when she found herself shoved back a little. Automatically, Opal flipped the knife across the girl's ear, hopping to nick it, and likely winning there, and sent it the knife straight into the hoe tree behind the brown-haired woman. "Just because you have a longer weapons doesn't mean you're in any position of power," Opal warned, wielding an even longer knife drawn from her belt. She couldn't help but wish she had thought to bring one of her own larger weapons for a change, but she was most skilled with a knife anyway, and had her agility as well. "What's your name? I'll only ask once. My knives are not as friendly."

| Oh okay |
She dodged the knife. This girl was probably attempting to kill if she had knives. Hmm, maybe they had something in common.
"Did I ever say I was in any position of power?" Sapphire snorted. "I don't know if I can trust you yet, so let's just say my name is Marie. What's yours?" Marie was the name she was using. She truly didn't know if she could trust the girl yet. But if the girl was just as skilled with weapons as Sapphire was, or maybe even more skilled with weapons as Sapphire was, Sapphire might be able to get to know her.

Opal glared. They did have something uncommon, huh? "Shadow is what the fearful nincompoop half-bloods call me here at this lame Academy," she responded harshly, balancing skillfully on a fallen branch, her brown eyes taking in everything. "My sincerest apologies, dear half-blood." She smirked. It was sarcasm, of course.

"You're human?" Wow, she was human too? Sapphire assumed it would be safe if two humans met. "Yeah, those half-bloods are nincompoops. Good thing I'm not one." To get a good look at Shadow, Sapphire started circling around the girl. She was excited, she might get the chance to get to know someone like her.

Not even flinching, Opal spun the knife to hold the blade end, just in case, as the girl 'Marie' began circling her. "Good thing indeed, because this a meeting could ld have gone far wrong for you if not," she agreed, smirking. "What are you here for?" If she was t going to trap the girl, she could still interrogate her in the open.

"Eleven years ago my parents divorced, and my dad had custody of me. He locked me in my room, starved me and abused me, and I want everyone else to feel the same pain. So I came here, figuring there would be a lot of people to torture." Sapphire snapped. Shadow had just gotten on her bad side, and that wasn't a good thing. She always tended to get mad and aggressive if someone asked about her past, and even though Shadow didn't directly ask for her past, it seemed like a question with an answer that would involve it. "Why do you want to know, anyway? What brings you here?"

Smiling slightly, turning her head to catch Sapphire's eye, Opal listened intently, feeding off her information. "I want to know because I know what invaluable information is valuable," She responded mystically, not even flinching at the girl's sudden hostility. "My father was killed. By the half-bloods. I want them to bow before me, to see that I am their leader, and then I'll kill them. Slowly. With fear."

Wow. This girl was more devious than Sapphire thought. And suddenly, Sapphire stopped circling. She looked Shadow in the eyes. A plan had come to her, and she thought it was perfect.
"I'm talking serious. I've never had any friends. Maybe in my childhood, but I know I could do well with an ally, if I had one. Why don't we merge our plans together and make a big, giant scheme?" She grinned happily. If they worked together, who knows how much havoc they could wreck? The details of the allying deal were coming together for Sapphire, piece by piece.

Pursing her lips, Opal shrugged, approaching a nearby tree and scrapping her knife down it, simply out of boredom. "I don't know, Marie," she offered up, blinking simply 'innocent' eyes, pressing on her lie. "I already have an ally, and... well, how do I know you trust me? Or how can I trust you?" Well, it wasn't all a lie. It was true she had an ally, a possible lover, but he had betrayed her, and now Opal wasn't sure how she would deal with him. I'll.. I supposed I'll be forced to kill him, or beat him to the point of silence. It was a painful thought, but a necessary one all the same.

"You have a point there, Shadow." Sapphire agreed. What if Sapphire betrayed Shadow? What if Shadow betrayed Sapphire? No one could trust anyone in this case. They were both females struck by tragic events, and they both learned not to trust anyone. But could they trust each other, since they had both gone through tragic events? She continued. "We'll have to take bit by bit. My real name is Sapphire, though I haven't told anyone besides you yet."

Opal grinned, taking the first step towards trust by sheathing her knife and removing her second one from the tree and doing the same with that one. Turning back to Sapphire, she reached an arm over hear head and pulled her mask off, exposing her face. "Opal. And you're the only one to know my true identity," she remarked, stuffing the mask into a thin pouch on her black belt. She loved black. The dark suited her well, also.

"Gotcha. So, Opal, do you have a base?" She asked. Once Sapphire saw Opal's actual face she thought she was very pretty, not in a crush way but in a friendly way. But, she didn't want to make things awkward, so she didn't say anything like that. Sapphire slid her katana back into its holder, which was behind her, attached to her belt.

Hesitating only slightly, but making it anticipated all the same, Opal let the question roll around in the air. "Yes, I do. Though it's not something you might be fond of. You see, I won't deny my wealth, so you'd think me spoiled if you saw it." She grinned, blinking heavily, running her hand through her hair.

"I may think you spoiled, but that won't stop me from being your ally." After she saw Opal's grin, Sapphire just couldn't resist one. "So, let's see it, eh? Where's it at? Grasslands, the lake... Your dorm?" She snickered. "How pathetic would it be if it was in your dorm? I mean, so much for keeping your identity a secret." Sapphire laughed, a laugh in which a few specks of evil could be heard here and there.

Snorting ruefully, Opal shook her head slowly. "You obviously know nothing of keeping your identity a secret. Obviously I am the only one with common sense in this academy. Even... even Logan doesn't understand the importance of secrecy." Pulling her arms behind her her and curling her shoulders back, Opal stretched. "You can just run around waving a katana. If we are to be allies, my first step will be to teach you how to keep things private. Otherwise... well, it will ruin my whole plan"

Her face quickly turned bright red in a state of anger. "I absolutely do not wave my katana around! If anyone notices it I act like it's just the case that holds my map which is in my dorm! And I don't assume you've met everyone at this academy, so you wouldn't know if you were the only one with smarts!" In a flash, Sapphire had pulled out her katana, and she whacked the blade against a tree. A deep, long cut was left in the poor tree.

Resisting laughing, Opal simply rolled her eyes. Anger management skills? 'Naw, don't need them' went the conversation in her head. "If," Opal pointed out, waving a finger in the air and tilting her head back at the red-faced katana-wielding young woman, "You had bothered to factor in the chaos that I have caused, and therefore the unease of every stupid half-blood in this ridden academy, you would have benefited with the supreme knowledge that the student council and the Principal alike will search you and your 'map' as soon as they meet you." A grin played on the intelligent young woman, who rounded a circle and stopped in a seemingly random place. After standing for a moment with her hand on her hip, Opal swooped down and latched her finger around a camouflaged short loop and tugged upwards. Followed by a few hinge-creaks, Opal threw open the trap door and revealed a smooth wooden staircase and a waft of warm air. "After you."

Sapphire was speechless, but her expression still revealed anger. She walked to the trap door and looked down at the staircase. "Thank you." Sapphire said when Opal let her go first. She was barely prepared for the surprise that was in store for her, in the base.

Practically skipping down the stairs, Opal followed Sapphire into the base, kicked off her boots and laid them against the side of the room, and dug her cold toes into the soft carpet. She flipped the lights on and shut the trapdoor behind them. Gesturing to the room with the black leather carpet and wood walls and roof and a large TV and glass coffee table, Opal smiled more warmly than usual. "Make yourself at home. Don't go into the storage room though; still smells of blood a little."

The base was amazing. More than Sapphire expected. She couldn't even put it in words, other than describing all that was there. She smiled back at Opal, almost wanting to hug her for her hospitality, but she wasn't that soft. Instead, she said "Thank you" with a slight nod.
Sapphire stood, like an idiot, in the middle of the room, taking in everything, every last detail. How long had it taken Opal to build all of it? Days? Weeks? Months? Years? And how many people had it taken her to build it? Two? Four? Six? Eight? The mystery stood as unsolved for the blue-eyed brunette.
