[[ Claire Blakely if she hasn't been kidnapped yet? Injury, stabbed in the left lung, punctured/collapsed lung and loosing blood. ]] Making it back had been difficult. Not only had Lovino essentially no knowledge of the forest, but the stupid bleeding pasta-eater over his shoulder was A LOT HEAVIER THAN HE LOOKED. The boy was barely lucid, and at the movement had only mumbled barely audible strands of Italian before nodding off again. Everytime he closed his eyes Lovi feared they wouldn't open again. The thought of that happening was what pushed him onward, making him run as fast as he could even while supporting his brother and himself. He should have been with Feli, he had known what was going on and yet he let that stupid halfblood out of his sight when halfbloods were the ones getting kidnapped! Stupid! Lovino wasn't in as much trouble, he was human, but Feli was. He tried to ignore the blood staining his shirt and the stares he got as he finally got back to the hospital. "I need some help over here!" [[ I am cruel, the title is "Long Live Italy." ]]

|I really need to inform everyone that you can't just make human accounts. I don't think I mentioned that I'll accept this character, though. Wait, who is this? LOL I have no idea.| Claire sprung into action at the acrid scent of blood, ducking out of her office, ears twitching in anticipation. Without Angelica, another doctor of hers who had recently been diagnosed with a severe K-9 cancer, she was fighting to maintain order in the slow hospital. Preparing in advance, the principal and doctor dragged out a medical bed, lowered the sidebars, and waited with a new kind of adrenaline in her blood for the injured people or person to arrive. When a young man did, another half-blood hefted over his shoulder, Claire pointed to the bed, gulping back unease. Did Shadow and Logan do this? she wondered, setting up an IV for whoever needed help the most, because with so much crimson liquid on the two of them, it seemed to her that both had lost plenty of blood. |Wait, who is the guy Lovino is carrying, and who's injuries are the ones you listed?|

[[ Oh it's Dami! I didn't know it wasn't allowed without permission, sorry!!! Feliciano is another one of my characters, the one that Lovino is carrying, and the one that I listed the injuries for, since Lovino has none. I need to be more organized about this! Sorry for being confusing! ]]
Lovino let out a very quiet sigh of relief when he found that the doctor had already prepared a bit before he had even arrived. He would never understand how much halfblood's senses were improved compared to his...
With Feliciano still unconscious (which both concerned and comforted Lovino) it was slow getting him over to the bed but soon they had placed him there.
"He was stabbed in the chest- by some guy, he had gray hair, I don't know who he was-" Lovino tried to explain, but words were failing him.

|It's okay It's my fault, really. I never really made a public announcement| Claire frowned deeper, her tail lashing slightly. Gray hair.. she thought, disparagingly. "Did he have metal claws?" she asked, wondering if her suspicions were correct. After helping to get the boy onto the bed, Claire jerked her head to show that Lovino should follow, and after adding the IV line to the patient's arm, started quickly rolling the bed down the halls, heading for the nearest clean room.

[[ The claws mean that the cut looks like three separate knives were stabbed, ouchhhh ]]
Despite not wanting to remember, Lovino did, and he nodded as he started following her.
"Si, yes, he did," Lovino sighed, trying to keep himself calm though he was on the edge of both panic and rage. "I think he missed the heart, but I have no idea-"
He honestly hated the people that did this, but now that he was in their shoes and his brother was hurt, he couldn't stop the question from coming out of his mouth.
"Do you know if he will be alright?"

Claire sighed, quickly rolling Feli into the surgery room and jumping to action. "Honestly, I don't know," she muttered, quickly washing her hands in the nearby sink and tucking the second loop of her mouth-mask (??) over her ear. "But I'm going to do all I can. I might need you're help. We're low on staff right now, and this is.. this is a major wound. Wash your hands over there, but just flick the water away. Also put on one of the facial guards." Selecting a pair of sterile clothing scissors, she began snipping away the boy's clothing up his chest, exposing the wounds. Gulping back worry, Claire ensured a breathing mask was over Feli's mouth and set to work.

"You want me to help???" Lovino echoed disbelievingly. "I don't know what to- GAH FINE." If it meant increasing the likelihood of his brother living then he'd do whatever he could. He followed Claire's instructions, fear making him focus intently on the task at hand and not screwing it up.
"What do you need me to do?" he asked, wincing visibly when he saw the wound- it looked really bad to him, and he didn't even know what "bad" looked like.

The sight was, indeed, inflamed and slowly gushing blood. Claire pointed to a tube-shaped vacuum hose, not unlike a large version of the vacuum hoses a dentist uses. "Hand me that," Claire instructed, using a sterile cloth to wipe away the blood spilling out of the lakes of crimson. There was nothing like being in the middle of a surgery, Claire reckoned. Not that it was a good thing. But the adrenaline that rushes through your every limb and digit, the knowing that your actions could be the ones that save someone - or be their last encounter to the world. It was a world in itself. It brought Claire the intense focus that wasn't easy to achieve, and the trust in her own handiwork and the work of others that could be used in everyday life.

Lovino's frown deepened (more than usual, anyway) as he caught sight of the wound and he turned away, trying to occupy himself with getting whatever the...thing....that Claire wanted to her quickly. Stepping carefully (he felt out of place and didn't want to trip now) he tenderly picked up the tool and held it out to Claire, making sure not to look at Feli.
He wasn't sure that he could without hurling.
But the sight wasn't what was making that happen, it was the fear of what would happen if he didn't make it.

Claire took the tool with more sureness, having the experience she needed. Carefully, she turned on the tool and hovered it inside each wound, watching as it slowly slurped away the pooling blood. Wounds cleared, she held the tool back out. "I'm going to work on one, and I need you to suck up any pooling blood. I'll have to stitch it from the inside out, and make sure the wound isn't infected." It wasn't really necessary to explain herself, but people could be confused, and it was good to do so just in case.

The look of determination, and definitely concern, deepened on the Italian's face, who took the tool and made his way to the other side of Feli so he didn't get in the way. Luckily Lovino had steady hands and was good at copying what others did with their own, you had to be if you cooked as much as he had.
He followed her instructions as best he could and as similarly to the way she had done it as possible.

He's pretty good, a part of Claire thought, wondering if she could recruit him to the doctoral ranks. Wincing at the depth of the wounds, Claire began her work, thankful the first and second ones didn't reach any organs. Claire managed to stitch it up without any problems. She wasn't as lucky with the third. The claw had scraped part of Feli's stomach, and though it was threatening to rip and burst, they were lucky in the sense that his stomach acids weren't yet escaping. More carefully than with the first two wounds, Claire added a brace in addition to stitches around Feli's stomach. It would later have to be removed, but for the time being, it was all she could do to keep one of the most important organs from exploding. Stepping back after quite some time, Claire sighed. "He'll be alright. Not solids for a month, and he had to take it easy. I want him to stay here for at least a few days to recover from blood-loss and let the brace settle."

[[ ACTUALLY. DOCTOR LOVI IS A GOOD IDEA. I can imagine him being like House or something, where he keeps doing his job though he's constantly bad tempered about it. Lovi always had good intentions however grumpy he seemed. If you want him to be around more, that is? ]]
Lovino remained focused on his own work, calming down a bit after the initial shock of seeing the insides of somebody had passed. He glanced at what Claire was doing as well, half out of interest and curiosity and half just to try and figure out what and why he was doing it.
He had never really been interested in Medicine or First Aid, but he had to admit knowing what to do whenever something like this came up would be helpful for anyone around. As she came around to the last cut Lovino had moved out of the way, standing back and settling for watching with a concerned frown. He couldn't keep in the sigh of relief that escaped him when Claire finished.
"He's had enough pasta to last a lifetime anyway," Lovino complained, relief allowing him to settle in his normal angry attitude. "I'm not leaving him alone again."
"I guess I forgot introductions or whatever...I'm Lovino, stupidhead over here is Feliciano," he said. "...thanks."

The doctor-woman grinned halfheartedly. "I'm Claire, as I'm sure you know. I'd shake your hand, though it's covered in what I could only describe as the essence of the insides of your... friend? Or brother?" Claire shrugged, accepting whatever answer he would throw at her. "You did well, you know. Most would hurl themselves out the door just at the smell of blood."|With Angelica now gone, it could be nice to have another doctor on hand. Plus, it doesn't make sense to only have one |

"Brother," Lovino confirmed. "As much as I hate to admit it," he added quietly, though it was obvious he was lying. Feli was an idiot, a hopeless one, but he had a good heart and was the best sibling Lovino would wish for.
At her next comment the Italian shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal. The initial shock had been rather hard to get over, yes, but after he had focused more on his job and managed to keep it at bay.
It still was disturbing...if he considered keeping at it he'd get over it in time...
"Am I supposed to take that as a compliment?" Lovino asked, honestly a little puzzled as to what Claire was hinting at here.

The girl shrugged and laughed lightly, the adrenaline fading making her impulsive to be happy. Claire set a heartbeat reader to Feli's finger and, after removing the mask, fed breathing tubes down his nostrils (...). Ensuring everything was set properly, she gestured with her hand for them to leave the room for a minute, consideration filling her with a kind of unease. Claire turned on her heals outside the door. With the loss of the second doctor and friend of hers, Angelica, Claire had been at ends with her own strengths, and the academy needed more doctors more then ever with the threat of Shadow looming over everyone's heads like some invisible gravestone.

Again Lovino watched as Claire worked, however briefly it may have been for, then he washed his hands another time before following her out. He looked back at Feli with the concern only a brother could have, but reminded himself he would be okay now...
He couldn't help being a bit concerned that there were not enough doctors around...he could help, yes, but some people wouldn't be able to, and one doctor was not always enough.
"So, are there any other doctors?" Lovino asked casually. "You seemed a bit shorthanded...where are they?"

Claire licked her lips, shutting the room door behind them and turning to Lovino with only mild hesitation. "That's actually why I called you out here," she began, folding her arms in front of her and trying to calm her fluffy tail, which seemed to have a mind of it's own. "Our only other doctor, Angelica, just passed away. You might have heard. And when I saw your instinctual skill back there, I began to wonder if you might consider at least training for a position as a doctor?" Claire liked her job. She did. But she couldn't be the principal and the only doctor in an academy that might shortly fall to chaos. Plus, what if she was injured herself by this Shadow? What then? There would be no one to heal the students, and no one to take her place as leader.

"...oh..." Lovino's eyes widened slightly as he heard the news. He had expected...somebody else to be around but if she had passed away...
Lovino had never expected to be put in any situation where he ended up training as a doctor, but he found himself nodding anyway. He could help, couldn't he?
"...I guess I could help out," he muttered, crossing his arms over his chest. "I mean if you need it. Sure."

"We do need it," Claire agreed automatically, pulling on of her hands away to brush some hair out of her face. "And from the looks of it, we need you. You already show great skills in the basics of First-Aid, believe it or not." Drawing in a breath, Claire looked through the window of Fel's room, checking his pulse rate; Stable.

"Fine," Lovino agreed. "I can help. I don't know much right now but I'll do everything I can." He cast a glance back at Feli for another moment.
"Don't want anyone else to end up like him," Lovino sighed. "...do you know anything about the man that attacked him? You didn't seem that surprised when I told you what they look like..."

Secret fist-pumping went on in the seemingly calm girl's head. Achievement get! Claire smiled thoughtfully when Lovino pointed out his hopes for no one else getting seriously injured, though she knew they would; why else have doctors? Claire's smile faltered, however, when the new doctor-in-training asked about Logan. The principal knew she couldn't keep suck a huge thing from someone that would be a key factor to the academy, and even if she did, he would find out from one of the other students. "Logan is his name. I don't know if you've heard about this new Shadow girl, but she's working alongside him. Logan is a tempered young man with no boundaries and metal claws that he uses to strike fear into people and injure them." It was out. Claire had tried to inform him in the least opinionated way she could, but when dealing with someone like Logan, it wasn't easy.

Lovino nodded and looked back at Feli briefly with a worried frown.
"...that's who Logan was, then," he sighed. "He had talked about a 'friend', said his past was rocky but he believed in him like the idiot he is anyway...I worried that someday something like this would happen."
Lest he end up looking like a nice guy, he quickly added, "He was always an idiot." He crossed his arms over his chest and pouted, he wasn't concerned about him, of course not.

The doctor didn't catch that it was an act and shrugged. "We all make mistakes, I suppose. Some more than others." She stood, a file in her hand that had been handed to her by a passing nurse, following Lovino's gaze to Feli. "You should get some rest. Visit him in the morning."
