Heyo, it's Dami! This event stuff had given me character ideas for Damian and inspiration came and I had to write and since it relates here WHY NOT POST IT HAHA.
Get your feels ready, they're going on a ride.
This short story coincides with the ones that Rosemary has been posting.
Caged.
He felt trapped hopeless, his wings were useless, even though the walls weren't nearly high enough to stop him from getting out. Damian had always been able to escape. To get away from everything, everyone, any danger he might be him.
But now there was one problem.
Before there wasn't anything he had to leave behind. Before he had been on his own, with nobody to look after other than himself.
His friends couldn't get out, most of them were trapped on land by gravity. But most of all...her.
Cecelia was still here. And she wasn't getting out.
The thought of leaving twisted something in Damian's stomach painfully, the thought of leaving her and everyone else alone to fend for themselves like he had done for so long.
The thought pushed his wings tightly into his back, keeping him from moving them up in down in the steady rhythm that would easily get him off the ground and back into the world he had lived in for so long.
The world he had lived in alone.
He couldn't go back to that.
As he looked up at the wall with uncharacteristically dull blue eyes, one more empty thought filled his mind. He had never payed any mind to it before but now he knew what it meant.
"Dami?" a voice interrupted his musings, and the snow owl halfblood turned to Cecelia, looking back at him with concerned emerald eyes. "Are you okay?"
No! he wanted to scream. He wasn't okay, he knew he wasn't okay, but instead of saying that he gave a small smile.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he lied. "Just...thinking."
He was being trapped by love.
