A Chance (private)

    Smoke? Claire though with agitation as she padded along in her snow leopard form. I've seen a few things suggesting Logan's back. Could this be his doing? Great, just what we need. The Student Council President who was technically now the principal couldn't help but dig her claws into the ground at the thought of the tiger half-blood. A little more stealthily than might have been comforting, Claire crept through the trees, following her nose and the distant plume of blackness against the night sky. So much for a walk under the stars.
    A faint glow of light coming from around the lake filtered up over the trees and around the bend of the path. Great, it's a whole freaking forest fire! she thought, starting off at a brisk lope.
    But it wasn't exactly firelight that she was seeing. It was the lights strung on the trees, beconning Claire's amazement. And on the breeze, detected by Claire's sharp nose: Shawn.
    "Shawn!" she tried to say, though it came out more as a startled purr. Quickly shifting back into a human, she walked along the path in the chilly air toward the small-ish fire next to a star-filled lake. Claire looked around her, taking in the grandeur of the scene.
    Claire stopped within a few feet of Shawn, her eyes warm and surprised at the same time. "Oh, Shawn! It's so... It's so beautiful!" She exclaimed, approaching him and attempting hug and a kiss. "I've missed you."

    Claire smiled warmly and kissed him again. "I know. And yes, another chance." She looked into his eyes, trying to make the moment last forever. Tail swishing majestically behind her, she kissed Shawn, and you could tell she was happy again. Claire loved Shawn so much, and it was nice to know that he did still love her too. She was worried she would have to make ends with him, but that night, she felt complete once more.

    Claire pilled away as Shawn set about serving the pasta, and she took the dinner with a gracious smile. Taking a seat, she took the silverware and set the plate on the ground, getting ready to take a bite. "Hey, not even woman can cook without a trusted cookbook," Claire said in almost a cat-like purr. Taking a bite, she sighed, looking at Shawn with amazement. "But this.. this is amazing! Shawn, I would think you're a chef!"

    Claire swallowed the little remnants of food in her mouth and leaned over towards Shawn, leaving him a long kiss, resting her hand on the back of his hand again. After a few moments she drew away and returned her attention to the meal. "Sorry I'm mushy," Claire apologized, only half serious. "I guess I just missed you more than I thought."

    The pale full moon lit Claire's face, and she followed Shawn's gaze up to the stars. "Their beautiful, aren't they? And this academy and the forest it has... it's amazing. I can't believe I managed to made this sanctuary." A few moments later, Shawn sighed, and Claire turned to him. "What's wrong?" she asked, taking a but of spaghetti.
