The bright, yellow bus pulled up to the bus stop and the doors opened. A small, petite blonde with colorful butterfly wings fluttered out of the bus and placed herself down gently on her feet. Her feet wearing black sneakers, and she was wearing a purple dress that was a few inches above her knees. Selby didn't care if it wasn't very fashionable. She felt comfortable in it and that was all that mattered. Her wings could actually breath and get used to the air that surrounded it. It was important that she got her wings used to the outside so she would go outside of her home every once in a while.
Selby lived far out in the middle of nowhere. It was sort of like the country life, but she didn't do anything related to it. Anyway, the point is that she rarely had any problems with humans seeing her wings. Of course, most country folk like to visit their new neighbors and sit down for a little chat, which ends up consuming hours and hours and hours. Selby never liked hiding her wings underneath her jacket. Her wings were very sensitive and frail. Being smooshed up underneath a jacket wasn't going to help. Oh, if something happened to her wings, she would be devastated! They were so pretty, and she relied on them more than anything. Selby let out a sigh and glanced back at her wings, stretching them out to let the air surround them. Well... here I go.

Little Dove Flying high in the sky, Liliana's soft white arms were out stretched. Being in the sky made her feel more at home then anything in the world. From the moment she could first use her wings she was always flying. She would fly high and she would low, but she was always flying. Her blue eyes glanced down at the ground to see a familiar bus pull up to the school. Not long ago, she stood in the same spot which a new girl stood. With a delighted smile on her face, Liliana began to fly to the ground. Landing in front of the girl, she fixed her cute dress and the bow that was tied on the top of her head. Her long golden hair fell to rest against her back. Looking at the girl she gave her a bright welcoming smile. "Hi! I'm Liliana! You just came to the school right? Welcome!" "Hm?" The butterfly girl put her hand over her eyes to shade them from the blinding sun to see an angel flying in the air. No, it wasn't a real angel. The little girl sure looked like one. Golden hair, blue eyes, and beautiful white wings. Selby was jealous of the girl and her wings. They looked so strong and powerful while Selby's looked so fragile and thin. The angel flew down and landed in front of the butterfly. The half-blood was a cute little girl that would most likely be a bird half-blood by the looks of her wings up close. Boy, was she cute! A sweet smile appeared on Selby's face as she looked down at the girl a little bit. Liliana was a bright girl from what Selby could tell.
"Ha ha. Yes, I'm very new to Animalia. My name is Selby. It's nice to meet you, Liliana." Selby took notice of Liliana's wings once again. Hm... She must be a bird half-blood but what kind of bird? A swan or maybe a dove? She could be an owl... "You have pretty wings... I'm a butterfly half-blood. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of half-blood are you?"

 "I'm new too!" Liliana said pointing to her small cute face. "I only came here a few days ago and I've loved every moment of it! You are really going to like it here, everyone is so kind and sweet!" Then the butterfly began to ask her about her wings. Turning around, she showed her wings and gave them cute little flaps. "I'm a dove! Like my daddy and my Uncle and my Grandmother and her Mother!" The line of the dove blood went way back and it still stayed strong in children like Liliana and her twin brothers. Turning to face the girl once more, Liliana smiled sweetly. "I like your wings! They look like a coloring book! I like coloring books!" The little dove have a cheerful giggle, it only helped her purity look.

Cool! Liliana was still fairly new to the academy. It would be a bit strange to ask a ten year old for a tour around the school. They could always take a walk together and get to know each other while exploring the school. It would be a lot of fun! The girl gasped with amazement and her wings fluttered slightly out of excitement. The way Liliana talked about the academy made Selby so happy. She was glad to hear that she would be in good hands. "R-Really!" she exclaimed and batted her eyes at Liliana. "This is great! I was kind of suspicious about this school at first but I'm sure it's exactly like you said.
Well, I'm sure I wasn't the only one to be nervous and suspicious about this place. It just- It sounds too good to be true." It was like a dream. Selby still couldn't believe that they made a school for half-bloods. Did the humans know about it? Hopefully not... She didn't like humans that much. She got picked on a lot when she was little and attending a human school. Long story... But, surely she wasn't the only half-blood mistreated at a human school before. Selby noticed the little girl turn around and show off her wings.
The butterfly leaned in and examined the wings closely. Wow... They were beautiful and so full of life! If only she could have wings like that. "A dove, huh? Well, your wings look pretty healthy from what I can tell. That's good." The girl backed up to give Liliana some personal space since she turned around to face her. Selby blushed hard and tucked her wings in close to her back. "Ha ha~ I don't know about that... Thanks, Liliana."

"But they are! They are like something you would find in a beautiful dream!" Liliana gave a playful giggle and spun around. She was so full of life and always so energetic it seemed she might burst if she didn't do something. Liliana began to wonder what they should do, then she began to recall her first day. Her face brightened like the sun when she got an idea. "How about I show you to the dorms then we can fly around the school so you can see everything?" Liliana flapped her little wings, her brown shoes lifting from the ground. She held out a soft white hand, "Come on it will be fun!"

The butterfly girl giggled to herself and watched Liliana spin around. She was a very bright and cute little girl. It would suck if they became good friends, and Liliana had to grow up. There would be no doubt that Selby would want Liliana to stay like that forever. That's if they became close friends, and Selby was pretty sure about that as well. It was sweet that Liliana thought Selby's wings would be something you would find in a beautiful dream. Selby didn't hesitate when Liliana held out her hand to her. "Okay! Let's go." The blonde started to flap her butterfly wings, slowly lifting herself up off the ground. Selby looked to the bird half-blood and smiled at her with a light blush across her face.
"Liliana, I hope we can be really good friends someday~" She never imagined making friends with a ten year old but age didn't matter unless they started talking about boys... Then, that could be a problem. But, of course, Selby wasn't interested in talking about boys at the moment. She was still quite young and had plenty of time to think about it. Even so, she thought her life was perfect without a boyfriend. Dating would have its ups and downs and too much drama to go through. It would still be nice to have that special someone by your side, though.

Liliana gave a cheerful giggle, "I want to be best friends with the pretty butterfly! Best friends!" The little dove began to fly in the direction of the dorms, not going to fast in case the Selby struggled to keep up. As they flew Liliana began to quickly sing to herself. "Best friends, Best friends, we are going to be best friends. Best friends, best friends, I love my best friends!"

Selby blushed and fluttered a little bit with excitement. Yes, she was aware that she was a pretty butterfly and yet it still made her blush hearing someone say something like that. Maybe it was the way Liliana said it. It was sooo cute! The butterfly was happy to hear that the dove wanted to be best friends with her, but they would have to start on square one first. Of course, she had no doubt that they would become best friends, even though they were four years apart in age. Some older kids had enough patience to put up with younger kids and some didn't have the patience. Selby appreciated that Liliana wasn't going too fast. It was okay. Liliana could let go of her hand and fly around for a while. Selby could manage on her own. Selby giggled as she listened to Liliana sing to herself. She's just sooo cute!

"Look! That's the dorms! Come on, down we go." Liliana began to fly down, again not going to fast so Selby could keep up. Once they reached the ground, the little dove turned to look at her new friend. "So what dorm are you in? I might know where it is."
