| Rosemary Jackson Claire frowned. She was sitting at her desk, her computer in front of her but turned off. She sit with her head on her hand, hand on her wrist, wrist on her arm, arm on her elbow, elbow on the table. With her other hand she had a pencil, and was flicking it up the desk, then watched it roll back, and flick it up again. It was a terrible way to fill her time, but something to fill her time at all. Moaning, she let the pencil roll off the table and sat all the way up, then spun on her chair and stared at her wall. It was something she had painted when she first arrived in her dorm. It was black with grey and white mountains, details in the rock added into the mountains below with dark grey paint. It also had a dark, dark, dark grey river flowing around the biggest mountain and swirling down as though it was the soft tan carpet under foot. Of course, on the side of the room that she had her bed was the large, glass wall. She also had a blizzard on the wall that had a door leading to the bathroom, that then led to another room of the dorm. There was even more detail that one would think! And Claire had done it all herself. No one really entered her room, so Claire's room didn't get a ton of praise for it. But, she wasn't really one to need praise, so she didn't care. Suddenly, there was a knock at the front door. Claire stood and exited her room and wandered down the hallway to the door. Upon opening it, she smiled, Glancing down at her aqua, long-sleeved dress self consciously. It was Claire's best friend! "Hey, Rosemary!" She said, opening the door wider and stepping back so she could come in. |

Rosemary straightened her floral skirt nervously as she held her sketchbook in one arm. She had, in her opinion, the cutest outfit ever on today and she was so proud of picking it out. "Hey, Claire! I drew clothing designs in my sketchbook and I was wondering if you could check them out for me. If you have the time, of course." Rosemary opened her sketchbook to the first page and showed Claire her drawings of dresses as a sample of what she could see if she let Rosemary in. |

Claire smiled a yes, craning her head to look at the picture as she stepped away from the door so Rosemary could squeeze through. "Hey, if you want, you can always come over. I mean, I doubt anyone is gonna do something crazy when you come through, and I'll leave a note on the fridge. So, come over whenever." The female smiled and pointed to a luxurious couch in the living room, meaning for her friend to sit there. "Want a snack? I've got a bunch of stuff."

"Sure! Anything vegetarian." Rosemary said, giggling a little, entering the dorm. She plopped herself down on the couch and said, "So, how's it going for you?"

Claire rolled her eyes and entered the kitchen. She couldn't figure out why someone that was half-animal of something that was an omnivore and needed food, including the fact that the human side of her was an omnivore, wanted to eat a pile of veggies. It just didn't make sense to her. Omnivores need meat to keep their digestive systems in order. Yet she didn't complain as she pulled out half a watermelon and started creating little watermelon balls with an ice cream scoop into a large bowl.
"Oh, not too bad. Things are getting a little... crazy, but I'm managing. You?" Claire responded, avoiding getting melon on her clothes as best as she could.

"Exact same here. It seems like everything is like a rollercoaster, with a thousand loop-de-loops." Rosemary says, sighing, making little circles in the air with her index finger (no, not her middle finger) to imitate a loop-de-loop. "And one of the worst loop-de-loops is Logan Marshall." She muttered to herself.

Claire frowned and cocked her head. "Logan Marshal.. where have a heard that name?" Claire thought for a moment, scooping the last pit of the melon. Suddenly, her eyes lit up. "That tiger half-blood, huh? I treated two people yesterday with some nasty wounds he made with his dumb claws (which I think I should have been asked permission for first)." The teen picked up the bowl, grabbed two forks from a drawer, bumped the drawer closed her her hip and started for Rosemary. "What's he doing to you?" Claire asked, settling on the couch next to Rosemary with the bowl in the crease of the couch between them.

"Yeah. That stupid tiger half-blood that murders everyone. Nothing to me yet, but I fear he might." She grabbed a few pieces of melon and put them into her mouth, then chewed them and swallowed. "Hey, I hear you have a lot of books. Could we look at them?" She asked.

There had been no murders, as far as she knew, by any half-blood yet, but Claire knew that it could happen. She popped a ball of melon in her mouth and nodded at Rosemary, taking the bowl and setting it on the counter. After swallowing, she stood. "Their all in my room," Claire explained, pointing down the hallway. SHe started towards her room.

When she reached the room, Claire turned on her heal and waved her hand at her bookshelf. Approaching it, she skimmed her finger along the books, looking for any that were interesting. Towards the top shelf on the far right side was a thick book with a leather cover and carved symbols on it. Smiling, Claire pulled it off and help it lovingly. "This was my fathers," She explained, running her fingers along the text that read "Nullam et mysterii." Scrambling through her Latin studies, she soon found the definition and her face lit up. Turning the book to show Rosemary, she smiled a sideways grin. "I bet you don't know what this says?"

Claire smiled, brushing the book lovingly. "It's Latin for Magic and Mystery" She opened it up and sat down on the floor. "I'm just gonna look through it, if you don't mind."

"Okay!" She said, grinning. She scanned the other books and found one that said, "Hur man ata som vegetarian". Well, luckily Rosemary knew Swedish (yes, that is the language those words are in. I used Google Translate to figure it out, so it may not be accurate), so she began to translate aloud. "How... to... Eat... as... a... Vegetarian! Just what I need!" Rosemary said excitedly and started reading. This was just what she needed!

Claire laughed out loud. "Well, that's interesting. You should be sticking to a regular diet, you know. Cats need the protein to stay fit! (True story)" She exclaimed, turning back to her book. She soon flipped to a page in the book with a big bold title written like the rest of the book's text in swirly Latin text. The translation took her by surprise for a second. But she didn't believe in magic then, so she figured it was just another spell. The title read "Resurrectionis."
"Hey, Rose," Claire said, eyes on the book. "This page is a little... interesting." She moved the book to one side of her so Roesmary could see and read aloud.
"Resurrection." She began with the title. Underneath was smaller text written in what looked like blood. "Admonitio; Warning." Claire gulped. The half-blood's tail twitched and she looked at Rosemary to see if her friend wanted her to continue reading.

"Keep reading!" Rosemary almost shrieked at Claire. Resurrection! They could bring Kevin back! So much for Rosemary's fashion drawings, this was so much better!

Claire shrugged, wondering if she should bother trying to believe the spell. "Dimidium stilla sanguinis sanguis tigris; Et stabit de novo uberrima pinus, et tres guttae sanguinis humani; Decem quondam amatoris sui sanguinis guttae; cor defunctis..." Claire began, thinking for a moment. "It's an ingredient list," She realized aloud, noting the instructions below. "A drop of a tiger Half-Blood's blood; fresh sprig of pine; three drops of human blood; ten drops of deceased's lover's blood; heart of the deceased... Rosemary... only someone that knew about half-bloods could write this. I- I think we should maybe try it. Or at least try another spell in here to see if the book is serious. What'd you say?"

"Yeah, we should try it! So, if I remember correctly... A drop of Logan Marshall's blood, a fresh sprig of pine from the forest, three drops of Cecelia's blood, another ten drops of Cecelia's blood, Kevin's heart... Let's do this!!" She shrieked excitedly, getting up and doing a little dance. "Kevin's coming back! Kevin's coming back!" She yelled as she danced.

Claire stood up with her, feeling a little tense. "But, Rosemary, this could be a fake. We don't want to just go dig up Kevin's body and rip out his heart, so we should see if this book is serious. Let's try a spell in here first that's more simple," She said, flipping through the pages. Soon she came to one, and read aloud.
"Aperi ianua... Open Locked Doors. This one sounds easy. Go lock my door, will you?" Claire continued. "Patres vestri capillos. That's what we need: 'A strand of your hair.'" Claire pulled a strand of her hair from her scalp, and continued. "Sphærulaque simul, et crines stare ad ianuam Circumda dum manum dicens: Latine, 'aperire ostium, hoc est praeceptum meum' The translation is, Wrap your hair around the door knob and hover your hand over it while saying, in Latin, 'aperire ostium, hoc est praeceptum meum'" Claire shut the book, set it on the ground, and wrapped her strand of hair around the knob, then did as the book said. With a click, the door unlocked (sorry I PowerPlayed, want to just get this done  ) and Claire smiled. "it's real. We can bring Kevin back!" Claire squealed.

Claire nodded and smiled. "So, what if we did this: I'll get Logan's blood, the 10 drops of Cece's blood. You get the sprig of pine and the human's blood- we should get someone else besides Cece. And we'll both get his heart later. And Rose.. we need to keep this between ourselves. No one else can know. 'K?" Claire asked, standing up.

"Okay. Well, I better get started!" She yelled as she ran out of Claire's room without a thought. As she was running out the Dorm 1 door, she remembered that she had left her sketchbook on the couch, but she left it there for Claire to see. She had important business to do!
