(Either open to one or maybe @taytay?)
He shouldn't be here. It wasn't that he shouldn't be in the human world in general, but of all places he had wondered, here. The sky was still dark gray, and Damian wondered if he'd ever see it blue again. Things seemed to be falling in on themselves all over again. But even in times like these Damian didn't let up on a promise he had made.
It had been six years now. Every year, on this day, Damian came back to this spot. In front of him were three graves, each of them with engraved letters.
In loving memory:
Aaron Wright
Larissa E. Wright
Damian M. Wright
Various dates were also listed, but Damian knew them all by heart and never bothered to read them. The fact that close friends of his parents had even made a memorial grave for them was impressive. There hadn't been any bodies; fire tended to do that to people. It was weird, but Damian found it fitting he had a grave with them, too. He had always felt that some part of him had died that day.
"I can't believe it's been six years already," he murmured. "I still miss you. I guess that much is obvious, since I'm still here. I thought that when I went to Animalia Academy, everything would get easier...I don't know if I've ever been so wrong."

A redhead was walking along, and she was taking a look around just to look around. Being in the human world made her feel a little bit better after the tragedy that had taken place at Animalia Academy. She could eat ice cream in the human world, she could go to the beach, and she could go pretty much anywhere if she wanted to. The human world was nothing like the academy. For Cecelia, it was an escape from school drama and stuff like that. It wasn't the best place. There was a place she really wanted to go to, but she still hadn't figured it out. She just knew that once she got there, she would be very happy and want to stay there forever with that special someone and her friends. While the girl was looking around, she noticed a boy looking at three graves. Her eyes lit up, and she rushed herself to get through the cemetery to get to the boy. "D-Dami!" she stuttered and waved at him with both of her hands. Cecelia slowed down her pace when she got to the boy, and she smiled at him sweetly. "I didn't think you would ever come here by yourself." She laughed slightly and looked at the graves Damian was looking at. Aaron Wright, Larissa Wright, and- wait what? Damian Wright!? "Uh... Dami, why do you have your own grave?"

Damian looked up, smiling a bit as he saw Cecelia. The fact that she had been anywhere near a cemetery had been beyond him, but she was the one that he would have liked to have as company the most.
"It's kind of a anniversary for me," he admitted. "I come over here once a year. It's still hard to let go. All this stuff about Kevin kind of reminds a guy about his past." It didn't take her long to notice the fact that Damian had his own grave, though.
"Fire is a weird thing," he started. "It destroys everything. Forests, homes, and any trace of the living. My parents aren't even buried here. Friends of theirs ordered a small memorial stone placed here for them. And they thought I had died too, so..."
"Frankly I'm surprised I don't have a phobia of fire or anything."

"Oh, sort of like a family reunion? I-I'm sorry." Cecelia didn't mean to intrude. Damian could've told her that he wanted to be alone. The girl felt bad for not bringing any flowers, although, she didn't plan to visit the cemetery in the first place. After Kevin's death, she would spend whatever time she could with Damian whenever she saw him. Cecelia winced a little when Dami mentioned the name of her deceased ex-boyfriend. If she saw his dead boy, then she would be really scarred for life.
That was probably why they didn't take her with them to bury Kevin. Or, they already did bury him before announcing it to the school. Ugh... Cece would never let go of Kevin if she saw his body. "U-Um... Dami? Could we please not talk about death? Having someone close to you die like that, well, it was a big wake up call for me. I didn't even get to say goodbye..." Cecelia knew that Damian had experienced something worse like his family getting killed. She hoped that he wasn't insulted by what she said. It's just... she didn't have anyone close to her die yet until a few days ago.

Truthfully, Damian didn't mind the company at all. It actually helped. He hadn't brought flowers, either, which he supposed was rude, but knowing his parents they wouldn't have minded...and wherever they were now he hoped that they still didn't. He had always thought that they would be watching over him, either as full animals or spirits. Claire had said it was possible for halfbloods to pass on to a full animal form when they died, but Damian didn't know if it was really true at all. Maybe they were out there after all, flying in the forests together.
"If you didn't want to think about death then coming to a graveyard was kind of stupid," Damian joked, the smile slowly becoming a bit more genuine, though it was still small. He secretly had a theory that when he smiled it cheered Cecelia up just a tiny bit more. He figured acting more happy and making jokes would help out, too. He was pretty sure that Cecelia hadn't had anyone close to her die before so it was more hard on her than Damian.
"Lot's of us don't get to say goodbye," Damian said. "It's a fact of life. And at first, I know it's hard, but even though they're gone from this world, he still loves you. I can tell you that much for sure."

"Well, I didn't want to think about death. I just saw you and..." Cecelia looked down in disappointment and muttered, "I'm sorry." She didn't want to pin it on him and say it was his fault. She was just so excited to see him, and she didn't know what came over her. A fake smile appeared on her face, and she nodded to Damian. "Ha ha~ Yep, that's me. Stupid Cece making a fool of herself once again." Just great.. It wasn't the same without Kevin. She was also worried about the cubs Kevin took care of. They must've been so scared. Cecelia was afraid to leave Luna and Dawn by themselves, but they had the pack to depend on. She probably wouldn't have mad much a difference to them anyway. She couldn't communicate with them or raise them like wolves should be raised. Damian's smile didn't look all that convincing to her, but she accepted it.
"I'll be fine, Dami. It's just a lot to take in, okay?" Cecelia wanted to stay away from people and be depressed. She also wanted to come out of the dark and into the light where she belonged. It would make her happy and not so sad. "I'm sorry so this is your mother and father? Aaron and Larissa..." The girl crouched down and gently felt the names that were carved into the stone. A small smile appeared on her face, and her eyes landed on Damian's grave. It made her realize that she had to be grateful for what she had at the moment and avoid dwelling in the past.
"I know this is a silly question but... did your parents like humans?"

"I'm sorry," Damian murmured. "I didn't mean to make you feel bad about coming here. I was trying to lighten the mood, but I don't blame you for not being so enthusiastic. Actually I think some company was just what I needed." He looked up again at Cecelia's next comment.
"I know it's a lot to take in," the teen admitted. "A lot of people at the academy have. But you can't keep focusing on the past. It's hard, realizing that somebody isn't here anymore, but we can't focus on it. Though maybe I'm not one to talk. After all, I'm the one who came here during my free time. More graveyards isn't something I should be visiting right now." Damian let another small smile find it's way on his face as he remembered his parents fondly. He didn't mind Cecelia asking about them.
"Yeah, those are my folks," he answered. "Some of their best friends were humans. And most of them even knew their secret, actually. Once they got to know them, they knew that my parents weren't somebody they had to be afraid of. I think it's amazing, how close they got to humans, even though they knew that one of them could expose them." He let out a small laugh, realizing he was doing the same things now.
"Maybe it runs in the family."

"You really think so?" she asked when Damian said that company was actually what he needed. It was the same with her. Damian always managed to cheer her up, but it would be a little bit harder this time. Cecelia stayed quiet as Damian talked about not looking back at the past and moving on. She knew that everyone at the academy had gone through this experience and more. It was a first time for her, though. She would get over it the hard way, but she would realize that things happen for a reason. What was the point in Kevin's death? Maybe there was no point... She just hoped it wasn't her punishment for being a human and staying in Animalia. Then, death could go after one of her friends... or Damian. Damian was her best friend, and they were kind of working towards becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
It was mostly on Cecelia. Damian said that he would wait until she really knew that she wanted to be with him in that way. If she didn't, they would just be friends and that was okay with her as long as he was in her life. Cecelia smiled and she gazed admirably at the gravestones. She liked how Damian talked about his parents. It was somewhat positive. His parents liked humans, even though they knew one of them would expose them. Ha ha~ That was funny because Damian trusted Cecelia. The redhead stood up and turned to Damian, reaching out to take his hand.
"I guess it does run in the family~ But, I would never expose you or anyone else at the academy. I have seen what half-bloods are capable of... and I'm not afraid. A-And... I have you to protect me, right?" she asked and smiled at him sweetly. "Even if you can't protect me and I get hurt, I won't tell a soul. This is the one secret I haven't blurted out yet. I intend to keep it that way. A secret between me and the half-bloods. I will treasure it forever."

"I know. If I didn't believe you then I probably wouldn't be trying to get into a relationship with you," he joked. "I think you've done a better job saving my butt than I have saving yours. You know how to take care of yourself, but even so, I'll be here. A pack of wolves isn't gonna stop me." He ran his hand through his dark brown hair and sighed a bit, relaxing more than he had before. It was easier to handle the stress of being in the human world when Cecelia was right there. He didn't realize how tense he had been when he was by himself.
"Did you ever regret coming to Animalia Academy?" Damian asked, kind of out of the blue. "Isn't it against what your father wanted? Doesn't he hate half-bloods? Why else would he never tell you about them? I guess it's not really my business how you feel but I've always kind of wondered."

Trying? Did that mean Damian still wanted there to be something more between him and Cecelia? A warm feeling inside Cecelia's chest made her body shiver a little bit from the excitement. Dami... wants to get into a relationship with me? It was hard to believe that Damian was still trying to get into a relationship with her. Cecelia thought that Damian would've forgotten about his feelings for her after everything that happened. She thought he would've already moved on before she could give him an answer. It made her so happy to hear that he still wanted to be in a relationship with her. The redhead blushed and looked to the side, shaking her head. "Maybe... I only saved you once I guess.."
It wasn't all that amazing that she saved him from getting beaten up some more by Adam and Kevin. She just told them to stop and then she got punched for it, but she did stay in front of Damian so they would get past her. If she had to, she would've put her body over Damian and let Kevin and Adam beat on her instead. Cecelia was in love with him. She didn't think she would ever find someone she loved more than Damian. He was the one for her but... was she the one for him?
Cecelia looked at Damian, and she couldn't believe he would ask her that. "Of course not! I know that it could be dangerous for me but I love Animalia and everyone in it. I've made some great friends, and I met you..." she said and blushed hard. "I'm very happy that I met you... I'm glad that I came back. I'm glad that I made the mistake of coming to Animalia because I got to meet you a-and... fall in love with you. Y-Yes..." Cecelia smiled, and she thought about what she said. She was sure of it that she loved him, and she really liked the idea of being in love with him. "I do... I love you, Dami."

One time had been enough. Cecelia had put herself at risk to help Damian. It was kind of stupid that he had been more worried about her when he had a broken wing and had been slipping in and out of being able to think properly. Had he been in any other condition, Cecelia might have smacked him for being so worried when he was the one who really needed medical help.
That had probably been the start of when Damian had finally started admitting how he felt to himself. After what she had done for him, there was no way he could deny his growing feelings and warm thoughts about her. And he still couldn't believe how much of a jerk he had acted when Kevin was her boyfriend. He had been trying to be nice...but everything had felt at the time was so confusing he didn't know how to deal with it.
Damian's face immediately turned a deep shade of red when Cecelia spoke again. Especially during that last part. He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, smiling in that shy way of his. He had completely forgotten they were still standing in a graveyard. It was hardly the place for a love confession, to be honest, yet nothing tipped Damian off to the oddness of the scene.
"W-wow, really?" he tried to speak, but he was constantly stuttering and was totally making an idiot of himself. "I-I -hmm-" he cleared his throat. "I love you too." He sounded unsure, but he knew he was telling the truth.

It was true. Cecelia would've smacked Damian silly if he wasn't in such a poor condition after getting beaten up by Adam and Kevin. It was sweet that Damian cared about her, though. Aw~ Someone was being cute! Damian's blush made the redhead giggle. It was okay with her if he didn't want to say those three words back to her whether he meant it as friends or something more. Cecelia held Damian's hand, and she knew it was strange to confess to him in a graveyard, but she just couldn't wait to tell him. She believed that someone can make anywhere the most romantic place in the world.
You just have to be there with the right person and when it's just the two of them, it wouldn't matter where they were. "Yes! I do.. very much." she said and tilted her head in a cute way, smiling at him sweetly. Oh, come on! It was hard to resist that. That was the time she really wished she had cat ears or something then she would really tease Damian. Then, she would find out how red his face could get! (I will laugh my butt off if Damian actually fantasizes Cecelia with cat ears or something xD) Cecelia turned to Damian and blinked at him as he tried to spit out what he wanted to say. He's so cute when he's blushing~ She rolled her bright green eyes playfully and stepped in front of Damian.
"Aaaand? You're missing something. This~" Cecelia smiled brightly and gave Damian a sweet peck on the cheek.
