Can you hear the crowd, they all go wild, for you and your denial...Cody ran into the forest, not even bothering looking around to make sure nobody saw him as he stormed off into the forest. He checked to make sure that nobody saw him after, though. Especially now he didn't want to be seen. The times when he felt most alone. Alec was the only thing keeping him from breaking before. He had always been teetering on the edge, and after Mom had died, the red-haired weasel had been keeping Cody from just giving up. He was somebody that the snow-haired teen had always been able to talk to. He understood how he felt. He had been there when Cody needed him most, defending him from people who hurt him. And he was gone. Cody didn't know where. Maybe the stress had finally taken him over too, and he couldn't deal with it. Maybe he just went back home. Or maybe he was actually just...gone. Maybe forever. Didn't he know how Cody would feel? He didn't know how to speak up to anyone anymore. He couldn't just go on smiling like everyone else. It was harder for him to talk to people. Cody stopped in a small clearing, clenching his fists and teeth tightly. "Stupid!" he shouted at himself, stalking angrily towards a tree. "Why can't you just speak up?!" He punched the tree with his fist, not caring as the skin on his knuckles split and he started bleeding. His expression softened again, to one of shock and hurt, though he shook his head and shrugged it off. "Cody, just calm down for a minute." He leaned against the tree, slowly sinking to the ground. The snap of a twig nearby made him jump back to his feet, and he kept glancing around alertly, waiting for whoever it was to reveal themselves. He was really hoping they hadn't seen his display of anger. Watching you break down, break down...

She heard his yelling and cries and she felt herself drawn to him. She spotted the younger boy in a small clearly. Wincing as he punched a tree. "Hey y-you alright there?" She asked softly as she stepped through the trees. Practically blending into the night in her ground length black trench coat. Her long raven hair tucked over one shoulder as her pale blue eyes watched him with a gentle sympathetic and concerning look. "You know it's not very good to hurt yourself." She smiled slightly

"F-fine," Cody stuttered, glad that his hood was still covering his white hair. Despite him just getting mad at himself about being too quiet, he still couldn't open up to anyone else. Years of constant bullying on a guy could do that.
Cody was painfully -literally- aware of the blood that was dripping from his hand. He shook it out, afterwards cradling it with his other hand and trying to cover up the fact that there was blood seeping out of the cut. "Tell that to my hand," he replied, a rather feeble attempt at making a joke. The already small smile on his face was obviously forced, and faded away a moment after.
"I'm guessing you just heard the whole thing," he said, voice already becoming a bit more quiet.
(Do you know that some of your sentences are fractured sentences? I was wondering if it was on purpose or not. xD I'm kind of a writing Nazi.)

Nope not aware lol)
She laughed softly and came over and knelt infront of him. "Here let me see your hand." She reached out and gently took it with one hand before grabbing a strip of cloth from her trench coat pocket. "I always seem to be hurting myself whether I want to or not so I come prepared." She said as she wrapped his hand up in the clean bandage. "And to your question, no. Not all of it. Some, just enough to understand you obviously very upset or else you wouldn't have punched a tree like that." She tied the knot on the bandage and leaned back. "There. Better?" She asked gently. "I suppose introductions are in order yes? I'm Serenity Mason. I just joined here this morning." She held out her hand for a handshake.

Cody flinched a bit as she got closer, and visibly as she touched him, but didn't complain as she wrapped a bandaged around his hand. He wasn't used to anyone other than his family touching him without being forceful and hurting him. He forced himself not to shy away as she wrapped his hand in the bandages. When she was done he looked at the handiwork for a moment before lowering his hand again.
"T-thanks," he said. He didn't have a stuttering problem at all, however much he tended to do it. He just got nervous a lot around people.
"I'm Cody," he replied.

It's nice to meet you Cody." She replied scooting back to give him personal space. She had seen his flinching earlier. "So..I know you may not trust me yet and all. But if you'd like I'd be happy to listen to your ranting. It's never good to bottle things up like that. And." She paused looking away. "I sort of feel as if I'd understand what you've been going through. Obviously it has to do with family yes? I can relate." She rose to her feet and brushed her coat off. "But if you rather I'll leave you alone." She turned to go slowly unsure if he wanted company or not.

"I-it's okay, you don't have to go if you don't want to," Cody replied. As much as he couldn't always really interact that with people, very small white spots were starting to appear on the bandages around Cody's hand, since the wound hadn't closed up yet, and the bandages weren't the thickest. The teen kept it from view, trying to ignore the stinging pains coming from it. It was funny how every time you got hurt, it was even more painful than before. You would think you would get used to it.
"Yeah, you could say it was...family issues," he started, kind of quietly. "Or rather, my lack of them."

She turned around and slowly returned and sat down. Giving him some space. "Oh?..like what?" She asked softly. Resting he hand on her chin she watched him curiously waiting for the story to continue

"The problem is that I don't have any family," Cody sighed. "That my brother, the last person I had left, he just...disappeared. "He knew how much I relied on him and just...no note...nothing. He was gone. I have no idea whether he's coming back or not." That was the real scary part for Cody. Yeah, he could get mad because Alec had left him alone, when he of all people knew how much Cody couldn't really handle that. He was unable to reach out, yet even more unable to stand not having anyone to talk to. But no. That wasn't the real problem.
For all he knew, Alec could be dead. He might have gone back home and been caught, killed on the spot.
And Cody would never know.

She sighed. "I'm sorry. But it's never good to lose hope." She said gently. "I know it may be hard to and keep a positive mind. But you also have friends here right? People who will help you. And if you don't then make some." She took a breath. "I know it sounds sort of like a pathetic advise but it's true. And since I'm here I hope you'll let me help." She said. "I don't know what it feels like to not to know here your family is or if they are still alive. But I do know what it feels like to be a shadow. My sister left me and came here leavin me alone. No letters no phone calls no nothing. I've often wondered if she still thinks of me or if she's too busy with people here to even take the time to think of her sister. I've lived in her shadow my entire life." She murmured looking down. "So in a way I do understand at a certain level. But I don't think it would be fair for you or your brother to give up hope like this." She stated.
