@cody
Mei, a young half-blood, was walking through the what-she-thought empty hallways of Animalia Academy. She had recently met an older halfblood, named Hunter. Hunter and Mei had gotten close to each other, but he was the only friend to Mei at the moment. Mei sat against the walls of the hallway and frowned. Hunter was the only one she cared about.(don't think about it too much.) Her family has all died, mostly because of the HBES. But, her mother died of TB at a young age, 35. Her dad turned her in to the HBES, and her sister was killed as well. It all hit very hard on Mei because she was so young. In fact, Mei was starting to cry. Not that loudly, but softly.

Cody was walking through the halls, planning on going back to his dorm. His hands were in his pockets, hood covering up most of his hair as it usually did. At the moment he was feeling particularly alone. He could respect that Alec had better things to do than babysit his baby brother, like go outside, tinker with machines, meet people. Cody knew his brother cared for him more than anything, though. The red-head was always bothering him, in that way that older brothers did.
Cody let out a sigh, about to turn the corner of the hall to his dorm but heard quiet sobbing behind him. He stopped before making the full turn, looking back for a moment. It was a little girl. The young teen bit his lip before turning around and walking back to her.
"Are you okay?"

Mei Stopped crying and looked up at the boy. She sniffed and said, "Y-Yeah, I'm just...remembering my past." Mei rubbed her eyes and then her cheeks, trying to rub away the tears. The boy in front of her was fairly mysterious to Mei. His dark hoodie was nearly covering 100% of his hair, which she saw was white. She stood up and kept on looking at the boy.

Cody didn't say anything for a while. He didn't want to remember the past either, but he knew that making it go away was useless. Alec was able to move on past it, looking to make things seem better. Cody, on the other hand, was never the most optimistic, sensitive, and rather quiet. It made him an easy target to pick on, and his odd appearance encouraged others to keep on doing as well. But maybe he could lie and give advice he wouldn't be able to take.
"Don't dwell on the past," he said. "Try and look to the future, it'll get better." His words were empty, at least to him. How did anyone know if it would get better?

Mei sniffed. "I-I try to, but my past just keeps haunting me." explained Mei. Whenever she tried to think of a happy ending for her, it always ended as the HBES finding her and then killing her. Then it would replay her past from beginning to end. It wouldn't stop. But, this boy was being nice to her. "W-What's your name? I'm Mei." asked Mei.

"Then focus on something else. The past isn't going to just disappear from your mind but you still shouldn't focus on it," he said. How about taking your own advice, Cody? The young teen shot another sarcastic comment back at his own self conscious before returning to the conversation, however one-sided it may have been, at hand.
"Cody," he responded, hands still in his pockets. His posture, as it usually was, was tight and stiff, and despite him knowing full well that the only one here was a little girl, he could bring himself to loosen up. Too many years of having to look over your shoulder took it's toll on a kid.
