Cecelia shrugged when Damian told her that he heard the last part she said. Oh, well. So what? She liked bird half-bloods. That didn't mean anything, right? Damian was a bird half-blood but that didn't mean she liked him in that way. "I didn't say there was anything wrong with wolves! I love-" Cecelia dropped the conversation about wolf half-bloods. She didn't want to say that she loved Kevin because she knew it was just an overreaction. It was a strong word and she felt like it would shut him up. Anyway, she meant that she liked bird half-bloods because they were pretty cool with their wings. Cecelia nodded at Damian and said, "Thank you, Damian. That was a lot of fun. And, I understand what you mean. You didn't want that to happen to me. You're so sweet, Damian. You're always looking out for your friends. Well, this was a nice evening. We better get going since it's pretty late. We need to get our sleep. It's very important."

"Yeah, yeah," Damian agreed. "W-wait, Cecelia?" he asked, hoping to talk to her for a moment before she left. He was going to do it. He was just going to come out and say it. She probably already knew, but part of it was so that Damian knew that he liked her. He grabbed his jacket and shook the sand out of it before putting it on, his face becoming more red every second.
"I wanted to say that...uh..." Damian was stuttering a lot. He started rubbing the back of his neck nervously, face still beet red. "I-I had a lot of fun today and um...I t-think that I-I-" He closed his eyes in concentration and partially in embarrassment. Just tell her already! "I think that I l-like you. More than a j-just a friend. And I know that you have moved on, and you probably already knew, and that's okay, but I needed to tell you."
"I-I don't want things to be all weird between us," Damian admitted. "I just want you to be happy, whoever you are with. I don't know how I wound up liking the one girl that everyone else likes, but it happened, so I'll deal with it."

Cecelia turned around and blinked at Damian, wondering what he wanted her to wait up for. Damian's face was super duper red! Was he okay? Oh, he was just blushing really hard. Damian told her that he had a lot of fun and that made her heart jump. She was happy that she made it a fun day for him. He also did the same for her. They started off with a little argument when they got off the bus, but they started to mend their bond. She wanted the boy to spit it out all ready, but she decided to wait and let Damian tell her when he felt comfortable. "Dami... Why? Why are you doing this to me now? Y-You idiot! Why did it take you so long to figure it out!?" she cried and ran up to Damian, burying her face into his chest.
Cecelia stopped crying but tears were still streaming down her cheeks and she looked up at Damian. "Dami... What do you mean you'll deal with it? I don't get it. How could you just toss your feelings for me away like that? Am I not good enough for you to chase after? D-Dami, I have never stopped looo...ving you." She was slowly saying that she had never stopped loving him because she realized she couldn't take that back. And, it surprised her that she said that and she wasn't afraid to admit it. It was just like it sounded. Cecelia blushed hard and let go of Damian's shirt, casting her gaze to the side. "I-I'm sorry... This is why I didn't want to tell you, Dami. I'm a horrible person! How could I go out with Kevin if I had never stopped having feelings for you? I'm sorry but now I know why I said yes to Kevin... I was just going out with him to get your attention. I'm sorry, Dami. I shouldn't have done that to Kevin, you, or Adam. I hurt you all."

Oh great. Because Damian's face was red enough already. When Cecelia ran into him, he kept on blushing like crazy and he felt guilty. Of course she had realized that he liked her, before he had, no less. But why was she mad at him for taking so long? Shouldn't he have only told her after she had broken up with Kevin, if she even would? Or had she been waiting for him to admit it but Damian had took too long?
Whatever the case, Damian sucked it up for a moment and hugged Cecelia back. She needed it. He kept opening his mouth, trying to figure out what to say, something to try and make her feel better, but his voice wasn't working. When she started to pull away he let her, rubbing his arm nervously and staring at the ground.
"I didn't mean it like that," Damian answered. "I'm not going to be able to just push away my feelings and I know that. But I was trying to say that I would try, so that you wouldn't have to deal with me being weird around you. Because of Kevin, I would just be your friend...and that would be okay."
I never stopped loving you. Damian looked up from the ground, meeting Cecelia's green gaze and blushing even more. (STAHP BLUSHING DAMI YOU ARE KILLING ME! I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW YOUR FACE CAN GET MORE RED SO STAHP) "Cece..." Damian started. "What about-?" ...Kevin? She had what? "I thought-" Damian stopped himself before saying anything more. This wasn't the time to make Cecelia guilty. It was wrong for her to have done that, but it was wrong of Damian to push her to that point. He should had figured it out and confessed sooner. It could have saved them all a lot of heartache.
"It's...okay," Damian sighed. "I shouldn't have pushed you to that point. I ignored my feelings and tried to push them away because I couldn't deal with them. I wasn't ready to. And you had just been waiting for me to admit it."

There were sometimes she felt like Damian liked her as well, but she didn't know for sure. Cecelia felt a little bit better when Damian hugged her back. The hug was exactly what she needed. Then, she was stupid and pulled away from the man she loved. She listened to him explain to her that he couldn't just push his feelings away right at that moment. She looked a little disappointed to hear that Damian would've been okay with being friends. Cecelia was okay with that, but was that it? It was good that Damian got it off his chest but he couldn't just do that especially since Cecelia still liked him in that way. What did he expect to happen?
The guy ruined her and since she said all of that stuff about still liking him, she would have to break up with Kevin. Those words she said would eat her alive for even thinking about what she did to Kevin and Adam. "Please, don't take blame for this. It's not your fault. I acted on my own... Sooo what does that mean for us? Are we...- I don't know... Are we going to t-try this? No, you're probably disgusted by me for what I did. I understand... Anyway, I'm going to break up with Kevin. I just can't continue dating him, knowing that I said that I was still in love with you." Cecelia blushed and looked up at Damian, giggling at how red his face was. "I don't think it's good for your face to be that red. I didn't even think your face could get that red!"

"I-I guess we could try going out," Damian stuttered again. He let out an awkward cough and his face cooled down a bit. "Would it be better to wait for everything to calm down first? I'd rather not get on Kevin's bad side right off the bat like this." He stared at the ground again, rubbing the shell bracelet that Cecelia had given to him. He hadn't even realized that he was doing it.
"You might want to break it...slowly," Damian continued. "Ease the conversation into it. Geez, he's going to blame me." Damian smacked his hand on his forehead. It was his fault. "I mean, I wouldn't blame him, this time it really is. I told you and then you admitted it back. Besides, I'm the one who brought you here..." Damian admittedly was a bit scared of how Kevin would react. He was either going to be depressed for a long time, or take it out on the owl half-blood himself. Any way it went, it wasn't going to be pretty.
"Guess we should definitely call it a night now..." Damian let out a sigh. It had been a long day, and though he wouldn't admit it, carrying the extra weight while flying took it's toll. "Let's go home."

Damian said that he guessed they could try going out and that made Cecelia's heart flutter. She appreciated that he said he guessed they could TRY going out. They could try it out a little bit and see if they really want to become even more than sort of friends and sort of boyfriend and girlfriend. "Yes. We'll wait until I tell Kevin and then we could wait a little more and maybe... try going out." Cecelia nodded, understanding that she would have to be careful breaking it to Kevin. She was going to do that anyway because she didn't want to hurt his feelings by saying that she wanted to break up and that was it. She would tell him that they needed to talk about their relationship. The redhead smiled at Damian and touched his hand gently, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "It's going to be okay, Dami. Come on! I don't like it when you blame yourself for things that weren't even your fault." Cecelia hopped up and gave Damian a peck on his cheek. "Yeah, let's go home~" She tried to smile so that Damian would feel a little bit better. Her hand was holding Damian's and she looked up at him. "I-Is this okay? You know, for me to hold your hand...? It's kind of like a friend thing." Although, I want it to be more than that. But, this is good. It doesn't mean we are going too far with it. We're just holding hands~

"Well, this time it actually was my fault, smartypants," Damian joked. The teen didn't protest as Cecelia held onto his hand. He probably would need it; they were getting to an area where other humans could see them. He pressed his wings closer to him, but not as much as he usually did. Cecelia being there helped calm him down. He kept looking over his shoulder less and less, and when they stopped where the bus had to pick them up he didn't fidget around nervously.
"It's okay," Damian assured Cecelia. "Of course everyone else around might think it's more than that. Do you want it to be more than that?"

Cecelia huffed when Damian said that this time it was actually his fault. "You are so stubborn, Dami!" She was a little angry with him, but it didn't take long for her to smile at him. She couldn't stay mad at him forever. Her cheeks turned slightly red when Damian kept on holding her hand instead of pulling away. That was a first, but she was always the one to pull away. Cecelia rolled her eyes and shook her head at Damian. "You're being silly! Who cares what it looks like to them... whoever they are." The redhead giggled and blushed hard, glancing back and forth between Damian and the ground. "Well, I don't know. I may or may not want it to be more than that. Do you think this could work between us? Um... Do you want it to work?"

"Of course I want it to work," Damian answered. "And I want you to know..." Damian stepped more in front of Cecelia and grasped both her hands, giving his shy little smile as he looked at her. "...even if it doesn't work out like that, then I will still be here for you. I'm not leaving anytime soon." He meant every word. He wasn't sure if part of why Cecelia had held back was because she didn't want it to ruin their relationship, but either way he wanted to her know there was no chance of that happening.
"But if for some reason I become an idiot and do, I give you complete permission to smack sense into me?" Damian joked.

Cecelia stopped walking when Damian stepped in front of her with her hands in his. His smile made her blush especially that shy smile of his. Damian told her that they would still be friends if it didn't work out and that made her green eyes sparkle with happiness. She believed every word he said and hoped he meant every word he said. She laughed at Damian's little joke and nodded because she probably would smack him some sense into him if he did that to her. They were Dami and Cece. There was no way they could be torn apart whether they were friends or more than friends. Even if they were more than friends and they broke up, it would be for a good reason and they would still be friends. "Okay!" Cecelia giggled and the bus pulled up to the bus stop, interrupting their little moment. "Well, I guess it's time for us to head back. Thank you for today, Dami. I had a lot of fun." It was funny that they were sitting in separate seats on the way to the human world, and they would probably sit in the same seat together on their way back to the academy.

Damian followed Cecelia back onto the bus, noticing that Cecelia still hadn't let go of one of his hands. He gave yet another small smile to himself, taking a seat next to the girl. It was funny how much had happened that night. From seashells, to flying, over all it had been rather tiring. It was weird for Damian to feel like that since he was nocturnal and all. But he supposed that flying that long in human form, and with the extra weight would take a lot out of anyone.
Without realizing it, Damian had closed his eyes and was asleep in a few moments. His expression was peaceful as he drifted up, and somehow he had ended up leaning on Cecelia.
Hopefully she wouldn't mind.

It was a long night for the both of them. They were both tired. Damian was probably tired more than Cecelia was since he had to search for a made-up seashell, he carried Cecelia as he flew up in the sky, and he confessed to her something he had been holding in the whole time. It was just a good thing he didn't blow it like he normally did. Cecelia would be heartbroken if she found out that Damian didn't want to face his feelings for her because he was falling for a... a human. It's not like she could do anything about it. The girl smiled and gently stroked Damian's hair while he was leaning on her. She gazed at him out of admiration and so much care and love in her bright green eyes.
"You deserve to get some rest, Dami. Sweet dreams.." she wished him sweet dreams and kissed the top of his head. Oh, she would hate to be the one to wake him up so they could get off the bus and go to their dorms. Damian looked so peaceful while he was asleep. Cecelia smiled at the boy and continued to stroke his hair gently. It was a trick that worked on her all the time. If she ever had trouble sleeping, her father would go into her room and stroke her hair until she fell asleep. She hoped that Damian would be the same and that it didn't make him uncomfortable to where he would wake up.
