Rosemary meowed and hissed automatically. Then she realized he was talking to her. She couldn't communicate with others that weren't half cat, so she pictured herself changing from a cat to a human and soon she was a human. "I'm Rosemary," she said, "Who are you?"

Kevin changed to a human. "Kevin Jake. Nice to meet you." He said, holding out his hand for her to shake it.

Rosemary took his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you too." She said. Suddenly, she felt warm inside. Her heart beat sped up as she gazed at his perfect face. She had never met anyone like Kevin. He was... well, perfect. Could this be love? Rosemary thought so. Kevin was wonderful... it had to be love at first sight.
"So, what are you doing in the forests by the lake?" Rosemary asked curiously.

Kevin shook her hand. He did not have any feelings for that girl whatsoever. "Nice to meet ya Rosey." He said. "Want to go swimming."

He called me Rosey! A nickname! That must mean he likes me! Rosemary thought. "Um, well, I'm a cat... But, we could walk by the lake," Rosemary suggested. She hated swimming, even in her human form.

"Ever since it opened. This place is my home. Not the building, though. The forest is my home." He said. "Though life has had some ups and downs, I love this place. I've met some great people here. Like Cece..." When he said Cece he frowned and was lost in thought, at Cece, and how much he missed her.

"That thought makes you pretty sad, doesn't it?" Rosemary said, reading Kevin's expression. "It's okay. You might be able to find her again someday." Rosemary smiled at the thought of Kevin and his long-lost friend. But then, Rosemary thought- if Kevin and Cece reunited, Kevin would forget all about Rosemary- and Rosemary loved Kevin so much, she couldn't even think about letting him go. "Well, on a different topic, um, are you dating anyone?" Rosemary asked.

"Just wondering," Rosemary said with a slight smile. She started blushing all of a sudden. She loved Kevin so much- she just had to let him know somehow.

"Sure, but, are you sure you don't wanna go swimmin'?" He asked. He just shrugged and ran towards the eater and jumped, doing a front flip and landing in a dive in the water. He shook his hair and screamed, "Whoo!"

Rosemary broke out in laughter. Seeing him shake his hair like that- who couldn't laugh? "Alright... although I'm half-cat, I'll try swimming." Despite the fact that she hated swimming- and the fact that she was half cat- and the fact that she didn't know how to swim whatsoever, she would do anything to impress her crush. After taking off her shoes and socks, she yelled as loud as she could, "Here I come!" and jumped in.
She impacted. Her eyes were closed and she didn't breathe in any of the water. Water rushed inside her clothes as she outstretched her hands and shoved them back behind her to push herself forward. Suddenly, it felt like her lungs were shrinking. She didn't know how to get back up to the water. Ignoring the painful stinging, Rosemary opened her eyes in the water and realized she was too deep. By the time she would be above water, she would have inhaled lots of water. Rosemary flailed her arms crazily, but to no use. This couldn't be the end of her life, it just couldn't. She needed help, and fast.
