Personality: katniss is a strong and independent survivalist due to her difficult past and is good at thinking outside the box. she is not socially adept and has a hard time making friends due to the emotional strain on her life which has made her hard and cold. she is more concerned about her loved ones than being social, making her awkward around people. though katniss can be rather blunt, misanthropic, sarcastic, bitingly cynical and cold she has a very vulnerable side which she only shows around her loved ones, and she has a natural maternal instinct. she is not very good at acting for the camera and comes across best when she is herself. she is usually very logical except for times when her emotions get in the way. katniss has a habit of biting her nails when she is nervous or anxious and must consciously stop herself from doing so when around others. katniss is very strong, stubborn and determined. often, she will react first and ask questions later. she will do anything to survive. her unwillingness to take orders is perceived as her greatest weakness. even though she can sometimes be a bit self-centered and self-reliant, she does have noble traits, protecting those she loves. katniss has an instinct to protect those who are weak. nevertheless, she is a fiercely determined and resourceful fighter and is reasonably easy to underestimate. she is almost always in disagreement with authority figures and likes to use her own resources when it came to survival (The instincts of a true survivor). katniss was loyal to no one and had issues when it came to trusting others, but this grew to be her one of her greatest strengths.
History:
katniss grew up in a remote little shack community of half-bloods, where she could train, eat, and live in peace. when she was ten, her father died, leaving her with nothing to grip onto in the world. but before this, he had already left her a bow and arrows, something which she became skilled at. however, when she was seventeen, the government found out about this gradually increasing population of half-bloods and they came and attempted to wipe out all traces. the first death was her sister, primrose, who was only eleven when this happened. she was burned into ashes, into nothingness, when she was set on fire and became a human torch. this drove katniss to protect everyone, and she did, leading survivors away from the attack and setting up a new camp in a cave. eventually, katniss's mother sent her to a school for half-bloods, where she could learn in peace and quiet. so she wandered off on her own one day, with nothing but three litres of water, a backpack, sleeping bag and a set of bow and arrows. eventually she arrived at animalia academy, and she cleaned off and dived into the world of education.
