|IDK. "Best title ever" 10/10 IGN| | Adam Griffin and Rosemary Jackson| Okay, so maybe Opal had gone a little too far with the sanctuary. It was....... elaborate. It almost made her jealous. The assassin was tempted to hand off her own base in trade for this one, but she couldn't do that. Leaning against an awfully wide tree, Opal waited, dressed normally as to not offend Adam's thoughts of what Rosemary had gotten herself into. Opal wasn't sure if Rosemary had told Adam about Opal's being Shadow, but she was planning on asking her... first victim... upon her arrival in private. Opal was wearing denim-patterned leggings and a black t-shirt with a white infinity symbol across the front. She had sandals and taken the liberty to braid her long hair back, and carried no weapons. Hopefully Rosemary had gotten her message.
It is time to meet me in the woods.
The building is done.
Bring your boyfriend.
Trust me
~Opal
Across the back of the page was exact coordinates and a micro GPS. And no the waiting game.

| YES BEST TITLE EVER TEN OUT OF TEN BRAVO | Rosemary walked through the forest, excited out of her mind. She couldn't wait to finally be considered safe. And, she could be with Adam and not have to constantly worry about his well-being. This was probably the best thing that had ever happened to her, besides meeting her love in the first place. She turned around and hoped to see her boyfriend tagging along with her. She was so excited she had even taken the time to high-ponytail her hair. Though, she wore only a casual outfit, because overdressing in a dress in what she considered to be chilly weather didn't excite her at all.

(i don't know why but I literally screamed when I saw that I was tagged in this thread) Adam walked behind Rosemary, about 5 paces back. Like his girlfriend, he had found time to style his hair, which was almost never happened. But the 18-year old saw the excitement in his lover's eyes, and knew he had to do something special. Before he had left the dorm, Adam looked at his clothes, and knew he was ready to go. "So, where are you taking me?" asked a confused Adam. The bitter cold enveloped the hawk-halfblood, which made him wrap his giant light brown wings around his shivering body. It didn't help as much as he wanted, but hey, Adam was warm.

Faintly, Opal could hear distant voices, one she though she recognized. A chill swept across her, but not from the cold - her mentors had taught her to embrace and replace the weather. The girl pulled her arms tight across her chest. She felt uncomfortable knowing that two of her victims - one not even knowing that she was Shadow - was coming directly toward her. And what worried her further was that she intended to ask Rosemary if they should tell Adam. Am I seriously going this soft? Why do I care so much about these two? She wouldn't realize it, and probably not for a while, but it was because she was jealous of the two lovers to the point of wanting to protect them. They - alongside Cecelia and Dami - were the only truly active rightful couple, and the only couple she wouldn't have to destroy to get what she wanted. Impatient, Opal leaned forward, and despite her training, couldn't yet see the two. "Rosemary? Adam?" She called out, thinking she saw a flash of teal and a snippet of gray. "Is that you guys? I'm over here.."

"I told you, silly! The safe haven, remember?" She grinned at Adam and attempted to hold his hand. She attempted to tug on his arm impatiently. "Come on!" Rosemary whined, hoping Adam would pick up his speed. What was he waiting for? (WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOOOOOOR! LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO, LOVE LOVE LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO... Er, sorry no that wasn't from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack...) Yes, it was Opal who built the base. And she remembered telling Adam that. But it would all be okay in the end, she just knew it. Then again, her gut instinct was never very right.
"Hi... Er, Shadow!" Rosemary waved to Opal. She wasn't sure if Opal wanted Adam to know her name quite yet.

"Oh yeah!" remembered Adam. Ah, the safe haven. Something Rosemary and Adam had dreamed of, for a long time. The sudden tug on his arm brought him back to reality, and told him to pick up his pace. Soon, he was walking alongside his girlfriend. Adam knew why Rosey was excited, and he was pretty excited too. Just not as excited as her. It's may have seemed like he wasn't excited, but that was not the case. Rosemary was just overflowing with excitement.
"Hi... Er, Shadow!"
A feeling of dread swept over Adam, and fell into the pit of his stomach. I shouldn't be this upset to see Shadow, she DID build the safe haven after all, thought Adam. The hawk-halfblood managed to squeeze out a weak smile, and a small wave.

|OH MY GOAT! Mabel, you read that last post, right? Opal is in normal person clothing. That means that if Rosemary just called a NORMAL DRESSED, NON-MASKED person SHADOW there might be some panic. Also, I'm wondering, did Adam already know about Shadow building the safe haven?|
Opal's gaze, surprised, turned sharply to her would-be friend. She already told him? she thought, looking back at Adam, who had weakly waved. Opal smiled in return, a gracious one, an honest, kind one. "Hello, Rosemary... Adam..." the assassin responded, her brown gaze flickering between the two of them. Standing instead of leaning against the tree, she took a pace forward, and tried to catch Rosemary's gaze. "You told him?" she asked sharply. I had sworn to kill them both if she had told Adam already. Though I'll stay true to my word, I hope she didn't tell him... Maybe he hadn't seen me? He assumed?

| Okie dokie I understand now Yes, I believe Rosemary told Adam it was Shadow, but she didn't tell him it was Opal because Opal had threatened to kill her if she did (Greenhouse thread). | "No," She responded, a little embarrassed to be hiding something from Adam. "I just said it was Shadow. Should I tell him?" A memory of the greenhouse encounter suddenly popped into her head and she was seconds away from turning into rage. Thinking back on the moment, she had forgiven Opal and yet Opal still declined to be her friend and threatened her. That made Rosemary pretty furious now, but she kept her mouth shut and waited for Opal's reply.

(rosemary said, "Hi, er, Shadow!" that kinda translated to adam that shadow was right in front of him.)
Adam was starting to become more worried for Rosemary's sake, as Shadow began to be sharp with her. A part of Adam wanted to step back, in worry, while another part wanted to stay safe, and do nothing.
But Rosemary's words made Adam assume that she was hiding something from him, making him slightly more worried. Then again, it was probably secrets between her and Shadow, meaning if Rosemary told him, it might even cost them both of their lives.

|Sorry guys. This will be short and not that great. Had a kitchen accident and can only type with one hand|
Bemused, Opal turned towards Adam and managed another slight smiled. "It's alright. Your eyes are the main source of understanding,"she muttered, crossing her arms against the chill. "I suppose you already have seen me. I expected Rosemary to use my real name... that would have made more sense to you. But... I'm Opal. Shadow...." Her smiled faded, and knowing that her words might strike some lingering fear, she took a step back so that she wouldn't seem... frightening. As much. "I'm sorry... for that night. I really am."

| Late reply! So sorry! |
Rosemary turned to her boyfriend, and then back to Opal. "Sorry." She muttered. She didn't know that Opal expected her real name to be used. After the greenhouse incident, she wasn't sure what to call her.
"So..." Rosey tried to direct attention away from any awkwardness, if there was any. "How's the base going? Is it done?"

(SORRY FOR THE VERY LATE REPLY)
Adam was relieved to escape the dead air left between the trio. "Uh, yeah, is it finished?" he asked. Adam was anxious out of his mind to see the base. Just to think, Rosemary and he would have their own place together. Their own safe haven. It made him want to squeal of excitement.

Opal nodded, smiling slightly. Turning to the large tree, she reached up and pressed a normal-looking knot in the trunk, and a keypad revealed itself. "You can change you're password after I leave so you can be sure anyone - including myself - can't get in." Opal keyed in a simple 1 1 1 1 code, scanned her hand on the screen that popped up, and pressed enter. Instantly, a door-sized oval in the trunk slid to the side, and a wooden staircase, lighting, and a small chandelier was exposed. Opal flashed a generous smile to the two lovers, then started scaling the spiral staircase. "There's a button on the inside of the trunk - press it to close the door," Opal instructed, gesturing to a little black button on the wall.

"Woah!" Rosemary grinned and squeezed Adam's hand. "This is awesome! C'mon, Adam, let's see what the inside of the base is like!" She started bounding down the staircase, hoping for her lover to be as quick and eager as she was to see what their safe haven held. While her mind was occupied with excitement, there was another space where she was thinking about different passcodes they could use. 1234 would be too simple, and so would 2580, Rose thought. Maybe we could do something like 1436 or 2513, which makes a small T-shape.

Like Rosemary, Adam was over the top excited to see the base. He grinned as she squeezed his hand, then pressed the button on the wall of the trunk, to lose the door. Adam quickly followed Rosemary down the staircase, replying, "Alright, alright!" with a grin.

Leading the way down the wooden staircase, down by about fifteen feet, Opal stepped into a lushly-carpeted living room. There was a pull-out couch, a TV, a small gaming system, coffee tables, and a small bookshelf with games and books and movies. The walls and roof throughout the base were made of smooth wood 2 by 4's. To the left was a large kitchen leading into a dining room, complete with all the necessities and even a few groceries. Branching out of the living room was a hallway with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a storage room, a pulley-like system leading to a panic room 40 ft below the surface, and a small emergency room complete with medical equipment and supplies. "I hope you guys like it..." Opal said cautiously, standing to the side so she could leave when asked to.

"Like it? I LOVE it!" Rosemary squealed happily. She uncontrollably morphed into her cat form and attempted to nudge Adam playfully, bounding around the living room like a cheetah with a sugar-high. She hoped Adam would play along with her. This moment was all she had wanted for a long time.

Adam opened his eyes in shock, with his jaw hung open. "Wow..." he gasped, not finding any words to express how he felt. Adam felt something soft and warm nudge against his leg, and looked down to see Rosemary in her cat shift. He smiled, and bent down to her level. "You want me to shift too?" he asked, quietly.

Opal smiled and her shoulders dropped. She hadn't realized he had been tense. Though trying not to stare, Opal watched as Rosemary shifted into her cat form and rub against Adam (does that sound as weird as i think!?). It brought back memories, of when Opal attacked the girl in her attempt to flee. Opal blinked the memories away. Watching Adam and Rosemary converse regardless of being able to understand their current languages, Opal felt a sudden pang of jealousy - How amazing it must be to be able to do something as they could! But it was quickly replaced by the hatred that her father had placed on her heart. Suddenly feeling awkward and unwelcome, Opal shuffled back, planning on leaving. She cast a final glance around the room, licking her lips out of a habit of stress, and chuckled halfheartedly. "I'll, eh... Heh, I'll go then..."

Adam turned to Opal as well, and nodded his head. "Really, thank you, so much for this. It means a lot to me too." But, really: They had a safe haven all to themselves, and in the right time too. Its not as fun as you think to live in fear.
The 18-year old hesitated on what to do next. Hug? A friendly wave good-bye?

The young assassin was mildly disappointed. She hadn't been expecting them to ask her to stay, but she still felt upset that they didn't anyway. So, she made a respectful dip of her head and started climbing the stairs, leaving the beautiful safe haven she had built entirely alone to the two people who's species she despised with a pure hatred that came from her father. The father that she swore to avenge. A father that was... no, he's not a monster, nor am I. He was doing the right thing. I am failing him. Suddenly the weight felt like too much. First there was one tear. Then there was another. And then Opal did something she thought she had forgotten how to do. Opal cried. It was a quiet sob. As she rounded the corner, Opal whipped the tears away quickly, hoping the two half-bloods wouldn't see it. It was hard to see, and she was sure her chest was going to collapse from the seer force she had to muster to keep from wailing in such a confusing frenzy of feelings; feelings of grief and anger and confusion. She couldn't possibly wait longer to sob in her base. Opal sniffled once or twice, quietly, but her tears blurred her mind, for she forgot that half-bloods have excellent hearing. There's the door. Almost there...
