Melissa stepped off the bus and breathed in the fresh air. It wasn't as fresh as the air in front of the ocean, but was still very refreshing. She looked up at the amazing academy before her. This was going to be her new home. What was it going to be like? Was she going to get friends? Would people dislike her? She had no idea. " Well I better hope for the best." she said to herself, as she went up some stairs.

It wasn't really the best time for new students to arrive, but they were, faster than usual. Really, Claire should have been grateful but she couldn't help but feel uncertain about the people coming. Suppose they were working for Shadow? Or they would? Or worse, they would be injured or even killed by Shadow and Logan? It was too unbearable to think about, but Claire had to. That was her job as principal, and school-wide friend. Well, nearly. It was actually a good thing she didn't know everyone because that would mean something was up.
Claire's friend Angelica had originally been the one to greet all the newbies, but now that she was... dead - the word was fresh on the poor 21 year-old's tongue - it was her turn. Really it probably should have been Claire the entire time since she had been only the Student Council President with no principal in charge, until she grew old enough to take true lead. But there wasn't a new Council yet, and Claire had already but up sign-ups for people to try and get in the three open spots.
"Hello!" the principal greeted as a new student climbed the stretch of stairs to the front door. Extending a hand, Claire's black ears to match her jet black hair twitched, and her tail flicked neatly to sweep around her legs. "I'm Miss. Blakely, the principal here at the academy, though everyone calls me Claire if you prefer it."

Melissa looked up at the principal that would be her new "guardian". She first looked at her black ears, then her tail, then friendly smile. She felt like this was someone she could trust very deeply. "Hi." she said shyly. "I'm Melissa Healy. Thank you for letting half bloods here! If this wasn't invented I still would have been sleeping on the shore! Oh, and I don't have anything with me except my lucky rock. I would rub it on the shore for good luck, hoping I would get a home, a real home. " She then looked down at her feet and said " Can I live here for real?"

The woman listened quietly with a warm kindness, lowering her hand when it wasn't taken for a shake. Part of Claire felt deep pity for the girl, though despite her good intentions, she couldn't help but think of her own terrible past; watching her own mother and father burn at the stakes, then being forced to leave them behind in order to live without being tracked down.
Blinking away memories, Claire smiled deeply and nodded, attempting to place her hands on Melissa's shoulders for comfort. "Of course, dear," Claire responded kindly, hoping to herself that she could actually keep her alive. Part of the half-blood almost felt a mother love, or a sisterly one, and she admired the simple courage the girl had to talk to her superiors with such trust. "That's why I built this Academy, after all."

Melissa looked up at Miss Blakely, her eyes full of hapiness. She quickly replied "Thank you! My parents didn't want me. They were humans. They said my skin was too rough and they didn't like my naturally red hair. They thought I was just madness. At one point they wouldn't let me eat any food. Days later they didn't let me into their house. So I fled to a nearby beach and stayed there for I think 3 months. Then I decided to explore. Soon I found a bus stop to animalia academy and now here I am! Thank you Miss Blakely!" and without delay atempted to hug her.(Miss Blakely)

Though surprised, Claire hugged the relieved Melissa back. A few moments later, she pulled away, admiring her bright red hair. "Well, your welcome," Claire responded, warmly, rather surprised that Melissa was calling her by her proper name rather than just Claire, though she did like the sound of it.

Melissa was glad that she had excepted the hug. She looked at Miss Blakely as a mom now after their conversation. She then took her lucky rock and rubbed it as hard as she could. Her luck was going well so far and she wanted to keep it up! " You're very kind Miss Blakely!" she said as she smiled back.

"Thank you, Melissa. You're nice as well," Claire responded, leaning against the bulky wooden door to open it. It felt for all the world like she had someone to look after, despite the difference in age between them being fairly short. (That reminds me, how old is Melissa?)
Swinging the front doors open, Claire exposed the cafeteria, its grandeur shown for Melissa to see. "Welcome to the one-of-a-kind school for half-bloods, Animalia Academy."

Melissa looked into the huge room. Half-bloods were at every corner! Melissa was in a phase of awe. She looked at Miss Blakely then back at the cafeteria. Excitement filled her body. She had a home, a grand home with many people like her, or half bloods like her. She was more than happy to have a home. She started to jump up and down with excitment. "This is my home?!" she said happily

Chuckling to herself a little, she nodded to the question, hardly containing herself as the young girl began skipping around with glee. Perhaps I'll consider dorming her with me? After all... Sorry to replace you so soon, Angelica. You'd understand.

(should I be jumping in!? IT'S A TEN YEAR OLD I HAVE TO JOIN LUSAKI AND MELISSA MEET EACH OTHER.)
Lusaki had just figured out the day before she actually had wings. It was quite exciting, really, minus the fact that it was the reason she was sent here. Lusaki was wandering all around, carrying her tiny self with huge bat wings. Lusaki went to a place she hadn't been since she was eight (and the size of six year old), and noticed the principle and a new person. She had lobster red hair (really pretty, actually.). Seeing her height, Lusaki felt estatic. Someone her age! Lusaki couldn't control her flying at this emotion. She squeaked as she flew forward and knocked into someone (you two decide who wants to be knocked into).

Melissa got bumped into by another half blood and fell backwards onto the floor."Hey what's the big deal!?" she looked up at Lusaki "Wow you have pretty wings." She then smiled at her and got off the floor. " I'm sorry but I didn't seem to catch you name, I'm Melissa, Melissa Healy. And you are?" She gave Lusaki a small smile.

"GAH!!!!" Lusaki shrieked. "I'm so sorry!" She got up quickly, deciding not to fly. "Thanks. My name is Lusaki Yomo." She then bowed a bit. Then she looked at the principle. "Sorry, Miss Clare." The girl bowed again. "So you must be new...." She turned to Melissa, smiling a bit.

Melissa smiled back Lusaki Yomo. "Yeah I'm new. I went here because my parents didn't want me. The thought I was just maddness. So I fled. Soon I found a bus stop and now I'm here!" she smiled a bit then continued "So how did you get to Animalia Academy?" she then looked at her happily.

"Well..." Lusaki frowned. "I don't... really know..... See I just found out I had these," Lusaki wiggled her ears. "And now I need to figure out why my dad really sent me." Lusaki smiled wide and then flew to Miss Clare. "Which dorm is Melissa gonna be in? I hope in mine, it's so lonely being surrounded by 18 year olds and all those people who aren't even close to my age!"

Melissa gave Lusaki a small smile."I don't know, maybe. You seem nice. It's fun hanging out with someone your age." she then looked at Miss Blakely, then back at Lusaki." We could ask her!" Melissa said with excitement. She then walked up to Miss Blakely and asked" Miss Blakely can I share a dorm with Lusaki?"

Not bothering to mention that she was drowned out of the thread completely forgotten with the coming of a new young girl, Claire listened with only a little bit of ignoring until they kept mentioning her. Kids have such interesting names for their superiors. Interesting how that works.
Rubbing her hand on the back of her neck, the principal shrugged. She rather expected them to want to share dorms, but they didn't yet realize that Lusaki's dorm was already full, and they needed to fill up the other ones anyway.
"Girls, I don't know," Claire responded hesitantly. Doubtless, there would be some whining if the two were really kids. "I mean, there's other dorms I need to fill, and the other students have enough on their plate without two monsters running around, no offense intended."
