Rosemary JacksonClaire Blakely@damianwright (Don't flood me out) Kevin hadn't been having a great month. He lost his arm and girlfriend, and now he was about to lose his life. He was just attacked by a gang of wolves. Animals must hate him. He was losing a lot of blood. He lay on the ground, dying. He was basically ripped apart, and it was getting hard to breath. One last image flashed before his eyes: his friends. Damian was there, and so was Cece, and all of his other friends. A small smile appeared on his face. He closed his eyes, waiting to die.

|So, posting order: Kevin, Claire, Damian, Rosemary|
It was a nice day to prowl through the forests as one of the largest wild cats in Animalia Academy. The winds were low and cool, and the summer chill felt good on the Snow Leopard's long grey-white and black-spotted pelt was a relief, even if it didn't do much. Suddenly, Claire stopped. She was standing on a large fallen log with lush green moss under paw, tall trees all around. In the wind was a tang of something warm and bitter-sweet, like the scent of a freshly fallen deer lying in dew-coated grass. But it was different. It was human. And a waft of the person it was drifted on the breeze. The scent was the mind, tree-swept scent of wolf. It was laced with the undistinguished scent of half-blood. Kevin. Alert with fear and anxiety, Claire bounded off the log and into the trees. She soon reached a bloodied area where Kevin lay, bleeding out, dying. As fast as she could, she morphed back into a clothed human and ran the few feet over to the half-blood. Claire was able to pick up the scent of other, pure wolves, pain, and of course, blood. "Kevin!" Claire wailed, stripping her second-layer (meaning she had two on and she took off the top layer) shirt and wadding it up. "You'll be fine. It's alright. I'll help you." The anxious female attempted to press the cotton clothing to the worst of his injuries (just say what Claire pressed it to. Like, "and pressed it to a bloody cut along his chest") On the breeze was also a familiar scent. Cat. There was only a few cats at Animalia Academy, and only one that often prowled the forest on four paws. Even so, her scent was easy for the huntress snow leopard half-blood to pick up. "Rosemary!" Claire called, still trying to stop the bleeding. "Get your butt over here! Hurry!"

Damian was flying again. It was a calm trip, navigating through the trees once again and feeling the air on his feathertips...but this time, looking down was something he had regretted.
There was red. The dark red that came out a body, the kind of red that was blood...and it was coming from Kevin. Damian recognized Claire from above, and immediately swooped down, shifting into his human form a bit too early and practically crashing into the ground. The teen got up again, brushing dirt off of himself before running up.
He was stepping in blood. Not metaphorical blood, this time it was real. Damian found himself swallowing bile and trying not to barf at the gored sight in front of him.
"Oh my god-" he started, choking on his own words. He pulled off his black cardigan, handing it to Claire since he honestly wouldn't know what to do with it. Which was the worst wound, anyway? "What happened here?"

Rosemary came out from the trees to see Kevin, Claire, Damian, and a ton of blood. But only one of them was bleeding- and it was Kevin. What has he gotten himself into now? Hopefully he won't die... She thought as she rushed over to his side at Claire's call. "Kevin! What happened?" She asked curiously as she knelt by his side. No tears came this time, though. Honestly, Rosemary knew he was going to die. His wounds were pretty severe to her. Something that couldn't be fixed. "Claire... He's going to die. This is it."

He smiled as Claire arrived, then Damian, then Rosemary. He pushed away the cloth she used to try to help him, and smiled sadly. "You can't change my fate, I've made peace with God, and I'm ready to die." He told her. He then looked at Damian. "I guess I had this coming, after what I did to you." He tried to joke. "A gang of wolves, they attacked me." He told Rosemary. He then nodded when she said he was going to die. "I am." He said firmly. "I'm gonna miss all of you guys."
(Should Kevin die in my next post, or the post after that)

|Just a note: Kat, Remember, Claire is a doctor. She would know better than anyone how long he has to live|
Claire almost growled in frustration. She snagged Damian's cardigan and pressed it to to the wolf-boy's neck, where she was sure she saw blood. "Rosemary," She said as coolly as possible, because being anxious makes a patient's blood flow fast. Her eyes on the blood and wounds. "He hasn't lost that much blood. I can stitch him up. It's mostly just stitches that came out when he was attacked." The doctor frowned at the mention of a wolf attack. Kevin was wolf, and although she had already scented the angered wolves on the breeze, she was still astonished. Animals didn't attack half-bloods unless they were a lesser species. But Kevin didn't seem ready to live. He was rambling about his death. Claire didn't stop the tears. The more Kevin talked the more blood he lost, and by then he had lost too much. They hadn't gotten there fast enough. The female cursed over and over, at herself, and others, at nothing in particular. Crying, she turned back to Kevin and shook her head. "You've lived a good life, though. And before you leave us, I must let you know something. I watched my family die long ago. I didn't tell anyone because.. well, because I didn't expect them to care." Claire glanced at Damian. He was the only one that knew of her human family's death. But no one knew how her real family died. Claire always lied about how she was separated before she could remember where they went. It wasn't true. "The HBES bound me up in a way that would have hurt me if I shifted into my animal. So I was forced to watch as my mother, a half-blood, and my father, a human, were torched. The HBES thought I was just human anyway, getting my genes from my father. I had to stay there and watch. Watch my family burn. Those humans wanted to be sure I would never interact with Half-Bloods again. Of course, that didn't work out. "But, when the fires burned down, I saw something amazing. My mother's body was once again up in a full-animal form. She nuzzled me, then disappeared forever." By now, Claire was sure Kevin had only minutes to live. She attempted to take his hand in hers. "So, if you like, you have a choice. You can spend your life in where ever we go after death (I'm not religious so I don't want to offend by saying "end your life" or "Go to Heaven" so.. Lets say Claire is mutual and doesn't know where she thinks she'll go for sure after death if she doesn't decide to stay animal) or you can stay on Earth as your full human. You don't have to tell us. We'll know." Claire, sure she would choke on her own words, whipped away a tear and glanced at the other two. What would Damian think? I never told him, and he knew more of my history than anyone. And Rosemary? I never told her any of this, and she's my best friend.

Damian couldn't force himself to smile, and as Claire went on with her own story, Damian felt himself getting even more depressed. He tried to let out a small smile to assure Claire it was okay; they had all suffered hardships on their own. He had been spared from seeing his parents die in front of him, though he had still had seen the flames consume his home.
He had minutes to apologize. Damian had kept putting it off and soon it was going to be too late for anything. At Kevin's comment about what he had done to Damian, he let out another small smile but it soon slipped off his face.
"Kevin..." he started. "I'm sorry about the way I treated you...after the whole 'Beat the snot out of Dami cause I can' thing. I have forgiven you for a while, but I wanted to make sure you knew before you...well." His voice trailed off again, not finding any heart to openly say that Kevin was dying- he was already painfully aware of it. "And if Cecelia was here...honestly she would be in tears. You are one of her best friends, and always have been."
"If it helps any, I want you to know I'll be there to protect her. Always."

Rosemary was surprised at Claire's story. She had never heard anything like it but yet she couldn't bring herself to tears for Claire, or Kevin just yet. "Kevin, you're a great guy and, haha, I remembered the first time we met, we were probably both so startled by seeing each other. Heck, I know I was." She chuckled at the moment. She knelt by his side. She knew this was it, she was never going to see him again, and she knew he probably wouldn't die in pain. Then she thought of a song.
"Say something I'm giving up on you..." She sang to Kevin quietly, hoping he knew that song, and hoping Claire and Damian wouldn't hear. Rosemary stroked Kevin's forehead and sang to him, studying his face as she did. Slowly, tears trickled down her face, and her beautiful voice cracked as she sung. But she remained singing as she wept by his side.

Kevin smiled at Damian. "I know, just take care of her." He then looked at Rosemary and smiled. "Thatsmy Favorite song." His breathing then started growing fast and shallow. He then Closed his eyes, and his heart stopped. Kevin, was dead.

Rosemary took his pulse the second he closed his eyes. "G...g...guys, he died." She said, crying hard. She didn't even realize how much she had cared about him until now. She lay down next to him silently, putting her back towards him, and tried to remember all the times she shared with him.

Any remnants of a smile on Damian's face quickly fell as Kevin stopped breathing. He didn't need Rosemary to tell him that Kevin was gone. He didn't need any medical training at all. It felt like it hadn't happened, like it shouldn't have happened...but it had.
Damian knew that this reaction was just a relapse of denial from years earlier. Death wasn't a easy concept for him, not for anyone, but especially not him. The last time he had been faced with the death of anyone he had taken the blame, hoping maybe it would make him feel...something else. But this time he knew it really wasn't his fault at all. There was nobody he could really blame...maybe Kevin for getting into a wolf fight in the first place (in a joking manner, of course).
The fact that Kevin had just died was just that- a fact.
"I...I guess we should...bury him..or tell the others," Damian started quietly, breaking the silence. "I...don't know what to do."

Claire didn't know what to say. She hadn't known Kevin much, so she let the people that did say what they wanted while she just cried silently. The female had founded Animalia Academy as a place where Half-Bloods would be safe, but Kevin's death proved that wasn't going to be a positive aspect. It just wasn't fair! Everyone knew how to take a pulse, so Claire trusted her best friend when she noted Kevin was gone. Forever. Just like that. Damian asked a question, and Claire looked up. She knew that Chase didn't want Kevin's accounts anymore it had been too long for Kevin to become solidly animal, so she bowed her head slightly before looking back up. "Well, he's in a better place, I'm sure. So yeah, we should bury him," Claire decided. "Do you guys have any ideas, maybe favorite places of his, or just.. the cemetery." It hurt to say. No one was supposed to die at the Academy, but Claire had made a cemetery just in case, knowing some people might want to live their entire life there. |I've actually made one, since there might end up being more than two deaths over the course of this site's history| |Also, Kevin, there will be a cemetery guide where you can tell what your grave looks like |

"Let's bury him at the cemetery." She said, choking on the word. If anything, Kevin would probably have wanted to give his body to Cecelia as a sign of love have wanted to be buried in the forests where he most likely spent most of his time. But Rosemary thought it would be best to bury him where dead people usually go.

Claire nodded and moved to his upper body where she proceeded to lift him, gesturing for Rosemary to help.
