Resigning fate (p)

    Finally, done! Claire thought, taking a look around her room. She had finally cleaned it and switched things around a bit. There was not only more floor space, but a heck of a lot more organization. From a neatly organized drawer, Claire withdrew a large roll of constriction paper and set it on the floor along with pens, glue, pencils, and all sorts of other tools, including paint. Before setting anything up, she spread a large sheet of plastic tarp over the soft carpet, then laid out the supplies neatly.
    A call of her name summoned Claire's attention to the doorway. "Come on in, Angelica!" Claire called, setting the paintbrushes in a variety of thicknesses in a large glass full of water.

    The halfblood giggled a little and snipped two large pieces of construction paper from the roll and handed one to Angelica. "You sure are ready to start, huh?" She teased, selecting a pencil an hovering the tip over the paper in thought. Of course, Claire had also take the liberty to set hard mats under the work space so they could actually write and draw and all.
    "Well, we need banners, which the paper for I can get out - lighter than this stuff - and we need to come up with a good poster page which I'll run down to the printer room to copy. So, whatever you want to work on?"

"Uh, why don't you start with posters?" Claire suggested, sketching out something herself. "Those are priority."

    The pencil tip finally completed the outline, finishing an image of scratchy letters and frightening ghouls and werewolves - haha, imagine that in a school full of halfbloods! - and other monsters. Little jack-o-lanterns lined the bottom boarder, and the date and time of the dance was plastered onto it as well. With a few splashes of color and black, Claire had completed a poster she fairly likes and set it aside to dry, as she had used plenty of watercolor paints on it along with colored pencil.
    "So, have you seen Cece lately?" Claire asked, hoping to make a conversation as she began another possible poster. The last time she had seen Cece was when she lied to her for a drop of her blood, saying it was for the hospital's blood documentation, when really it was for Kevin's failed resurrection. Claire knew she would probably have to either, a, complete the documentation with ALL the halfboods, or, b, tell Cece the truth, which she had a feeling would be less simply than what had happened with Angelica. Cece was close friends and, at one time, girlfriend to Kevin. I have to tell her the truth.

    "WHAT!?" Claire practically screeched, dropping her scissors that she had been using to cut out pop-out monsters. The halfblood's tail swished and her ears flattened as far as they could go, and her dark brown eyes went wide with surprise.
    "You're joking! Why? How? WHAT!?" Claire ignored the question, although there was probably a chance she should have. Break ups should not be taken lightly.

    Claire frowned at Angelica's story and kept her eyes down, refusing to even giggle at the weak joke. Thoughts elsewhere and worries filling her nerves with adrenaline, she began snipping fiercely at her paper once again. The breakup reasons Angelica told sounded way to familiar to Claire, and she couldn't bare to think that the same thing might happen to her, but she knew she had to support her friend. After a few moments, she looked back up, and shrugged. "I'm sure you two did the right thing," She said, reaching over in an attempt to rest a hand on her friend's shoulder momentarily. "But only you and you alone can decide if you're meant to find someone else, or if you're meant to fight." The words came easily to her now, and she let herself speak her thoughts in hidden meaning.
    "Love of two people is like a river, Angelica. Sometimes the water has to splits paths and take a different route in it's journey to a different place. Sometimes a river has to go around a boulder, and like a fork in the path, it must divide. But a boulder in a river is different. A boulder is a problem that the river knows if can pass, so it keeps going and joins back up with the other part of the water." Claire sighed and put down her scissors again, looking into Angelica's face. "What I'm trying to say is, don't let one mistake or problem be the deciding factor in your life. Yes, there will be times when you need to split up with something, but you'll know if you've go the right guy if you at least try to overcome blockages"

    Claire nodded, tail flicking assuringly. "Yes, however it could be that Diablo is right. I don't know what he wants to protect you from, but if you feel passionately about him enough that you think you should stay together, perhaps it's right for you to return to him," Claire suggested, finishing another poster. She liked the first one better. "You need to decide if you love him enough to keep whatever he's hiding or preventing from interfering with your love, or if it's right to find someone else. That's something that comes from here, not here." She touched first where her heart was, then her temple, then returned to her paper. "What do you think?"

    Claire nodded. "I get it," Claire admitted, grinning as an idea came to mind. "Pretend I'm Diablo. Practice with me. I don't know him well, but I'm sure I can prepare you for the worst."

"Oh, come on! I insist! I'll be ale to do the basics!" Claire pressed, drawing her voice deeper in her throat. "Hey, Angelica. What's up?" She almost laughed but held it in.

    Claire snorted a little as she tried to swallow a giggle. Struggling to keep her smile concealed, she continued. "What, you can't give me smoches?" Claire said in a deep voice, pretending to pout as she leaned forward a few inches and made kissing noises. "But I LUUUUV you, Angelica! I just don't want you to knoooowww!"

    "Speaking of Claire," Claire continued, poking Angelica playfully in the shoulder, "How is that totally super cool and perfect Council President, huh?" She smiled and laughed to show she was joking and with a sharp sigh of amusement began laughing like there was never another joke.

    The council member whipped a little tear of joy from her eye and let herself settle down enough to work on a banner for the dance itself. "Well, I'm alright, I guess," Claire responded, putting on her serous face. "I'm never going to get over it. I'll hide it away at a distance where I can still learn from it, but I don't want it to fill my mind all the time." The "it" she was talking about was her attempt to resurrect Kevin in hopes it would cheer her friend, Cece, up since Kevin was her ex and former friend. It didn't quite go right, though the spell book she used was true to it's nature.

|OOOHH I just realized something! What if the reason the spell didn't work was because Cece was actually a half-blood, it's just no one knew! PLOT IDEAS ^-^ That would be cool! Not that we would actually have that come into play, it's just kinda cool to think that we might incorporate that into the RP|

Claire nodded. Sometimes she felt like her conversations were something out of a book of poetry. "So, we should probably pick one to copy, huh?" Claire said, nodding to the little pile of posters.

    "We're made for each other, Angelica!" Claire said in a teasing voice. Then, after a few giggles, "I was thinking the same one. I'll copy it tonight. You think we have enough decorations? I can get streamers from the supply room on the night of the dance, too."
