Opal StroleLusaki tossed a stone, and watched it bounce once and then land in the lake. It was a cold afternoon, but Lusaki liked to sit by the lake and see how far she could skip her stones. Lusaki was still sort of new here. She looked at her schoolmates, who were all WAY older then her, and knew she was surrounded by weird creatures. Why had her father sent her here? Lusaki went out of her way to avoid the bathrooms. The mirrors were huge, and reflected anything but her. Lusaki never saw her face, and was scared to see it anyways. Lusaki rested her chin on her shoulders, making a lazy attempt to toss a stone into the lake. Lusaki hadn't tried to make any friends yet. Well, they were all teens and Lusaki a little girl. Lusaki sighed. Did Lusaki also have ears and a tail? No, that wasn't possible. She was completely normal, and liked being normal. Lusaki tossed another stone, and yet another.

The daylight still shone, so, despite Opal's boredom, she didn't get to become Shadow yet, the feared masked assassin that had been plaguing the students of Animalia Academy. Deciding that a day at the beach would suit her mood, she had found herself unknowingly heading in that direction. Dressed in white flats, a black, crew-cut long-sleeved shirt, and dark jeans, her long, wait-length black hair tied neatly in a braid, she looked normal. At least, normal if you considered an undetected human in a half-blood academy normal, who just so happened to kidnap older students and beat them for information. Opal may not have been a half-blood herself, but she was able to tell the girl at the lake was a half-blood anyway. Having nothing better to do, the nineteen year-old approached, the young girl, watching her stone skip across the lake. "Hey," Opal said, leaning down to greet the girl, surprised to see someone so young at the school. It was true that most people were aged from sixteen to 20, and so anyone younger was ultimately surprising. "I'm Opal. What's your name?"

Lusaki flinched. Someone talked to her. Turning, Lusaki saw this huge person. She looked normal. Great! Someone who didn't have those weird ears and stuff! When the person said her name, Lusaki broke into a dimpled smile. "Hi!" Lusaki got up, having to look up at Opal. Well, at least Opal seemed shorter then her supposed age (maybe twenty?). "My name's Lusaki." The girl flashed another grin, showing sharp teeth. "Why don't you have ears and wings and tails?" Lusaki asked. "I thought everyone here had those things. It's like they're half-animal or something." Waiting for an answer, Lusaki put her hands behind her back and tilted her head in a curious smile.
(I just realized Opal is three inches taller then me. And she's nineteen!!!)

Confused, Opal blinked. "I, uh.. I'm just lucky, I guess. I'm one of the few that don't have any animal attributes," she responded, picking up her own smooth round rock and skipping it across the lake; one, two, three, four. "So, what animal are you half of?" Opal asked, trying to pry into why the girl didn't seem to think she was a half-blood.

"What?" Lusaki asked. "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but that's not a really good joke." Lusaki searched for a flat rock, and threw it. It skipped 3 times, sending huge ripples, before descending into the lake. Lusaki then looked at Opal, all smiley and kiddish again.
(your laziness has attacked me)

|MY Laziness!? Well..|
A joke? "Wait, you don't believe you're a half-blood?" Opal inquired, confusion etched into her brow. She had met many a half-blood, but never one that didn't even realize they were half-animal. Skipping another stone, that managed to skip five times, Opal tried to figure out why someone wouldn't realize they were different if they had wings and... sharp teeth. "And I'm not joking. I'm being serious. Why else would you have wings and stuff?" Opal continued, watching the young girl seem so... normal. Almost human.

"I do?" Lusaki blinked. "What are you talking about!?" Lusaki skipped another stone, and smiled as it skipped 4 times.
(yup, I'm officially lazy)

The young woman sighed, annoyed. Pointing to the water, Opal approached the lake closer, it's clear water reflecting her own image. "Come here. Look."

Lusaki looked at the water. It reflected only Opal. "AHHHH IT'S A MIRROR!!!!" Lusaki screeched and ran to hide in a bush. Mirrors terrified her. She knew she was supposed to see herself in it, but nothing happened, and so she figured mirrors hated her and probably had something in store for her.

As Lusaki ran, Opal sighed. Children could be so difficult! Slowly walking up the beach, she crouched beside the bush that the young girl was hiding in. Resting her elbows on her knees, Opal tilted her head to try and see through the leaves. The position reminded her of nights when she would kidnap and interrogate students to the academy, and she tried to blink away the reminder with only a bit of luck. "Listen.. Lusaki?" Opal said, quietly. "Sometimes people just don't understand. They want you to be different. But other times it's just who you are, and you can't... you can't change what you are." Opal sighed. "Being a half-blood is nothing to be afraid of. Actually, I'd think you're lucky to have wings. You can fly!"

"But.... But I don't have wings..... Do I?" Lusaki whimpered, poking her head out of the bush.

Opal blinked fondly, ushering with a hand for the child to come out. "Yes. You don't have to look in a mirror to see or feel them."

Lusaki frowned. "But that's not fair!" She shouted/spoke louder. "My dad couldn't have sent me because I'm some crazy monster! He loves me!" Lusaki felt her wings, and half of her was excited to fly.

Opal almost felt jealous, though she pushed the feeling away. There wasn't time for jealousy, not when she would likely kill everyone anyway. Well, maybe she would spare this half-blood. She could raise her as her own. Perhaps that was a possibility, though there wasn't need to think about it that moment. "Your father didn't send you here because you were a monster, Lusaki," Opal assured the girl, noticing the change in the way her wings were held. "He sent you here so you could learn how to be who you are. You see, there are some people that are scared of people like you and me, and that's not your fault; it's theirs. Trust me."

(haha good idea let's have Lusaki also be a blood-crazy killer... no literally it is)
Lusaki looked at Opal. "You mean he's scared of me?" Lusaki widened her eyes. She had stepped out of the bush now, and faced Opal with wide brown eyes.

"Your father's a human, right?" Opal confirmed, glad to see the girl was stepping out. "Humans are scared of half-bloods because they don't know what they're capable of. They don't know why they are the way they are, and so they are scared."
|Maybe|

"Then he would've sent me here when I was born, and Mama wouldn't have died." Lusaki crossed her arms. "Hmm, I'm gonna fly!" Lusaki spread her wings, and then realized she didn't know how to fly. "Do you have wings?"

Done explaining, she didn't bother trying to answer the first question and rather focused on the second. "I don't, and I have only a little idea of how to fly." Smiling, she beckoned the girl over, amused at her constant urge to get things done and answered. Perfect for interrogating, Opal's dark side mused. "I'd try starting with opening them wide and kinda moving them like a wave or something. Remember you want to get off the ground, not around the world, so you need to flap downwards."

("Perfect for interrogating." HAHA I LAUGHED SO HARD READING THAT)
"Kay." Lusaki here did not have any difficulty moving wings out. Moving them any way else? No. The wings pretty had, like, no flexibility. Lusaki strained to flap her wings up and down. It barely moved.
(see, I'm still lazy)

Lusaki got it going now. She was flapping. Okay, so now what? Nothing really happened. "Uhhhhhhh..."

"Uh control with your wings? I honestly don't know what to do here." Opal remarked, wondering if she should ask that Damian fellow for help. Oh, yeah. Opal reminded herself that she had thrown a knife into his wing, in addition to his shoulder. Good times, good times. Perhaps another one, then?

"I guess I'll fly later." Lusaki shrugged, then ran to Opal. "What animal half are you?" She was excited to know what half other people were.

It was an easy question with an easy answer. Opal had actually had her story made since she had arrived, and knew the answer automatically. "Have fox," she responded, shrugging. "I don't have attributes though."

"Have fox? Oh half fox." Lusaki smiled. "Surely you have something, like maybe you're smart. Are you smart?"

Quite the detective, Opal thought amused. "I'd say I'm more... Yes, intelligent, and a trickster." She smiled, knowingly. The young girl couldn't possibly know just how fox-like she was, even if in reality she was far from half-blood.

"AND YOU MUST BE SNEAKY AND GREAT AT KNOWING HOW TO ATTACK PEOPLE!" Lusaki concluded. "That's so cool!" Lusaki bounced around Opal. "Teach me how to fight!"

It wasn't as though Opal necessarily felt a fondness towards the young girl that made her hesitant to train her, but rather someone might see Lusaki practicing in the same kind of style as Opal did, which could point people in either of their directions. But there was Logan out there, and he may not be as quick to listen to her if it came to beating another innocent. Hardly suppressing a smile, she nodded, standing shoulder-width apart. "We're only starting with the basics, okay? No ninjas yet."

Opal couldn't exactly pinpoint what kind of fighting the young girl wanted to learn, and what would be best, so she decided on self defense.
"okay, I'm going to teach you first how to get out of someone's grasp." Opal began, attempting to take the young girls hand. "Point your thumb towards the gap in my fingers, then pull that way."
